I like pineapple pizza (as long as the pineapple pieces aren't too big), but that burger sounds annoying. Not saying the flavors don't combine well, but the amount of toppings makes it sound way too tall unless the slices are razor thin.

I think "money" falls short as an explanation (though it's certainly part of it). Some countries like Sweden have substantially better state support for parents that the standard and the Swedish population isn't exactly poor in general, either, yet they aren't really getting that many more children than poorer countries with less support for parents.

Depends on how long I'm inside, how dark the store is and how much of a fuck I give on a given day. I do think that most people think it's rude/douchey/etc., but I'm not convinced that I should care about that kind of moralizing of etiquette (though I do care, to various degrees, what people think of me).

It's somewhat harder to see inside with sunglasses, but I, too, wear prescription glasses so it's a bit of a hassle to change to normal glasses.

Kinda hard to meet people while avoiding public transport (it sucks, and especially on weekend evenings) if you don't have a car and live too far apart for cycling, though. Driving a car and having a drink don't mix well anyway ...

I wouldn't call "throw some stuff in the oven and add salt" cooking. And either way it's vastly easier than working with pots and pans - you don't have to watch for pots boiling over or things turning black in the frying pan, and the clean-up is rather minimal, as well. Plus, pans tend to not do that well with meat or veggies directly from the freezer (it's possible but harder, which is not great for the post's premise), which isn't even an issue when you use the oven instead.

Also, there's something about baking that makes food taste pretty consistently good, I've never managed that consistency on a stovetop. It's incredibly demoralizing when you put in the work to cook properly and it turns out shit.

Oven has been a life saver for me. I've eaten a ton of meals that consisted of baked fries, some kind of meat or fish and vegetables, and it's as simple as putting a bunch of stuff on a tray, adding salt and baking it for 15-20 minutes. Easily beats most comparable microwave meals in terms of taste, texture and probably nutritional value, too.

Definitely. I don't actually finish that many games, might as well savour it when I do. Usually has neat music, too. There's a good chance I'll skip after a couple of minutes if it's very long, though.

TBH I would welcome the opportunity to touch toilet paper before buying. It can be hard to figure out how soft or rough it is just by sight and what's written on the package.

I didn't really seek out political content on the internet when I was a teenager (this was before the powers that be really discovered the internet as a propaganda tool), but I was already pretty leftleaning just from reading/watching traditional news, reading books and talking to people in person.

I do wonder if my views would have changed if I was more financially successful. It's easy to believe that you deserve it when you have 'made it'.

Last I checked, archive.org usually didn't work when articles are paywalled. Has that changed?
