Haha, I understand that feeling but it was with the youth choir that joined us on some of our pieces. I had permission to miss the final rehearsal since I had plans to be out of town before it was scheduled, so I hadn't heard them sing with us until our first performance. Had a couple of "ah shit I missed my entrance" moments because I was so impressed.
It's my birthday tomorrow! A friend just called me: "Someone sent me these weird AI pictures of Jeff Goldblum and for some reason that made me realize that it's your birthday tomorrow. Happy early birthday!" I think that's going to be my favorite birthday greeting from now on.
I've been trying to read more lately too. I used to read constantly as a kid and got out of it somewhere along the way. Hopefully we can both keep up with it!
It was with a teacher who's originally from Ghana but lives in the US now, showing us how they approach drumming where he's from. It was a great workshop, I wish it had been longer!
This week is going well! Work week went smoothly, and I have a three day weekend, which is shaping up nicely. Yesterday I had a much needed mostly lazy day and met up with friends for beers in the evening. Today I'm going to a drumming workshop this morning and then a burlesque show tonight. Tomorrow is a walk and lunch with a friend.
I was planning on going as Poison Ivy to a Halloween karaoke party tomorrow, but I'm dealing with a cold right now so I don't think I'll be going. Kind of bummed about that, but I think I'll have a better time just staying home in my PJs than if I forced myself to dress up and go out when I'm not feeling great. And anyway I don't want to risk getting anyone sick even though I'm probably not contagious anymore. I'm going to see if I can modify it to make it more school appropriate (I'm an elementary teacher) without spending extra money and wear it to work Tuesday.
Can totally relate.
