It may be store policy but it unfortunately does not prevent it from happening. Two examples i can remember are "Gentle Alarm" and "Manhatten Project". Both I purchased and no longer available. Also not in my "not installed" list unfortunately.
I may have used the wrong terminology in my earlier reply. There is "unlisted" where the developer leaves the app in the store but removes it from the search. "Carcassonne" by Exocet comes to mind. It is still available for me to install but searching for it only shows the version by Asmodee.
Then there is the complete removal of the app. Gentle Alarm and Manhatten Project are 2 examples. :(
At least you got a refund. I lost count of the number of apps and games I purchased from the Google Play store that got unlisted / removed and I didn't get any refunds. Granted it's not Google removing the app but it's the developers unlisting it for whatever reason. A small heads up before said unlisting would have been nice.
I started using Linux at tge end of last year when I built myself a new gaming PC. Had enough of Windows telemetry and wanted to start taking small steps to improve my digital privacy. Ditching Windows for Linux is the easy part.
Valve has fone wonders in making gaming on linux relatively frictionless all things considered and for that, I (and i believe a lot of people) am grateful. It gives us a choice in OS. Yes, Steam can be considered "DRM" but at least it's better than Denuvo or EAC. Steam works on Linux without having to jump through hoops.
Also, Steam family sharing is awesome. I can let my partner / family play my games when I am working and they are not.
I built a new gaming PC almost a year ago and decided to jump into the deep end by installing only Linux. 3 reinstalls later and Linux is still the only OS installed. So far so good. :p
Good to know. I also make use of the free Duck.com redirecting email address so the DDG app is nice to have. Besides, you can never have too many browsers ;p
I also hate apps which request for unnecessary permissions. I have a dashcam which has an app to view the recorded videos. The app requires bluetooth as well as gps location info. Bluetooth is understandable but I don't see the need for GPS. Unfortunately for me I can't seem to get mock locations working properly on my phone. It also refuses to work if i do not give it location permission. :(
I'm about to suggest another app for you to install. :p
If you're using an android phone (I don't know if it exist on iOS) install the DuckDuckGo app. It has a feature called "App Tracking Protection". It is supposed to block all trackers. I think it works as one of the games i have installed on my phone takes about a minute longer to load, compared to without the tracking protection. I think this is the next best course of action (apart from not installing / using the required apps).
It's good that developers make it easy to customize the soundtrack, although I didn't feel the need to as I found the songs for Rebel Galaxy exceptionally good. Have not played Outlaw yet. I've read reviews that gameplay wise it wasn't as good as the first one.
Well, not all the gameplay loops have been fully fleshed out yet which is why it is still in the alpha stage. Database resets happen as festures are added.
I don't know if i will go so far as to say they are incentivised to keep it in alpha.
You purchase the base game which comes with a starter ship. In the game, you can do missions or do cargo trading to earn in-game money which you can use to buy ships.
You can absolutely use real world cash to purchase additional ships, which funds the development of the game. You don't have to if you don't want to. Almost all the ships can be purchased with in-game currency.
The main plus point for purchasing ships with real money is they are acvound bound and will stay with you after a database reset.
