Personally I find the current range of phone options simply too huge. Having owned a Sony Z3 Compact followed by the XZ1 Compact, I didn't have many choices. I ended up with the Asus Zenfone 8.
I really like the formfactor of the Oppo find N where in it's folded form it's a really usable size and I can unfold it if I need a bigger screen. I don't mind the Samsung Flips or the Motorola Razrs but I think the outside screen can be bigger. There's a market for the Samsung Folds but it's not for me.
Tl;dr - my idea of a foldable should be a good sized phone which folds down to something very compact and pocketable.
While they're at it, why not look at bringing up the standards of home insulation up to modern standards. A little bit here will pay off in the long run in terms of reduced heating/cooling costs.
I think the main issue here is the difference in estimated wait times on the website vs the actual wait times which is many years longer. How hard is it to provide accurate and up-to-date information for people to make a decision when applying.
Yes, that's true. Then again, I'm mainly using my PC for gaming and most of what will be in /home will be game installs. I have my photos and music backups in a separate HDD.
I think at the end of the day, what I'm trying to achieve with the btrfs snapshots is to be able to roll back my OS in case a system update goes wrong, or I did something I shouldn't have. :p
On the contrary, my intention is to make snapshots of the OS (btrfs) and my idea is to store the snapshots on the /home nvme drive (ext4).
I don't know if that's the standard practice or if I'm over complicating things. My SSD is only 240Gb (I think) while my nvme is a 1Tb drive, thus the intention to store snapshots on the nvme. Maybe the 240Gb is sufficient for say a month's worth of snapshots plus the OS?
Hi all. Apologies to hijack this thread. Figured it should be OK since it's also on the topic of file systems.
Long story short, I need to reinstall Nobara OS and I plan to install Nobara on my smaller SSD drive with btrfs and set my /home folder to my larger nvme. I'm thinking of using ext4 for my /home and have snapshots of the main system stored on the nvme. Looking for a sanity check to see if this is OK or if I should be doing things differently. Thanks.
On one hand, I think it could be possible that Meta is planning to federate with the fediverse with the ultimate goal of destroying it and replacing it with their own instances. On the other hand, I also think it could be possible Meta is wanting to federate with the fediverse just so it can increase it's data collection many times quicker. Why manage servers when you can connect to other servers and suck up data as and when Threads users interact with other lemmy instances.
