  • Anyone who doesn't use ISO 8601 is wrong.

  • This is the kind of post designed to invoke a reaction. Facebook's and pretty much every other algorithm driven social media is designed to promote posts that have high interaction. So a post that invokes lots of negative reactions gets lots of promotion. Hence the downfall of modern society.

  • Literally every time I've purchased one for my child's or wife's electronic devices, especially those with large glass screens.

  • "The trans agenda" is in itself a bigoted statement. The agenda of trans people is to exist. If you've never used the terms "straight agenda" or "cis agenda" you're the one with a bigoted agenda.

  • Meta? Isn't that owned by alleged pedophile Mark Zuckerberg? I heard he was a pedo on Facebook.

  • Do you have sources for that? The US only had a competent federal government itself for a short period before this.

  • Going to wager those are significantly more flammable that the original material. Probably alright for purely low voltage applications. But not something to take lightly. 3D printing thermoplastics are not safe as electrical covers, conduit, or boxes.

  • Andrew Johnson is still the worst president the US ever had. He led us to where we are today by allowing the cancer to live and eat us alive from the inside out.

  • Oh man, this is a big one. Still worth a rewatch without the ending. That first season especially is so good. HBO lost their nerve and cut the second season budget and pushed them to speed it up.

  • The second season is coming. But I won't be watching it. Which really hurts because the comics meant a lot to me.

  • Dr Horrible had a great ending. That show is as pure and perfect as it can be. Also, Firefly actually got a good ending unlike so many other shows.

  • The US had a very similar struggle with a weak Federal government, an inability to tax, and high debts when it was first formed. The early government went through very drastic changes to become what we have today.

Of course it wasn't that far back in history at the time this central American government was going through the same exact problems. Those changes came to the US in the late 1780s. I wonder if they would have had access to the Federalist papers, might have changed things.

And then there were more gradual changes over time made by the Supreme Court interpretations of the Constitution, but those started more after the Civil War with the Marshall court.

  • Really, you can make out Patrick Stewart's face in that photo in the book?

  • F in the chat for Fortran programmers.

  • Nobody would be able to make it out when the show was filmed and released. It's was a fun thing for the set, but it wasn't intended for the audience.
