  • I'm not sure how this was even a question. Quark was clearly better utilized.

  • Only two kinds of people believe in infinite growth; economists and psychopaths.

  • I think this has more to do with the refurbished small form factor business PCs eating up their market share as they flooded the market. I can get a decent i5 unit for $100and throw a $100 into it in upgrades and hit the same performance as their $300-400+ price range.

  • Because infinite growth of profits on a finite planet.

  • If the best way to patronize them is inconvenient I would hardly call it a boycott. I'd call that basic capitalism.

  • Well, there's always the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mantra. There's a few reasons I tend to update. Because there's a feature I want or need, to fix a big that affects me, or because a software frequently updates with breaking changes and keeping up with reading change logs is the best way to deal with that. The last option is usually because if I keep up with it I don't have to read and fix multiple months of breaking changes.

  • What is driving you to need to update so often?

  • It depends on the project. If the project doesn't make an effort to highlight them I would consider using a different one.

But any decent OSS will make a good change log for their updates that you can read.

  • You read breaking changes before you update things, that's how.

  • It only existed so they would get to stop paying google for click-throughs. They ended it because enough people use the apps or go straight to the website now. Was never about charity.

  • I actually think this might be a violation of the developer agreement for the play store. You should report the app and see what happens.

The ideal solution would be to just not buy Starbucks.

  • The difference is that there Jews for Hitler didn't have the benefit of history being written already. So they were actually less stupid.

  • LGBTQ conservatives continue to be the dumbest people I can imagine.

  • You mean USPS? It's illegal for UPS to use your mailbox.

  • That's some real quick draw skill for a lot of people with good computers/phones and gigabit speed internet.

  • This will only cover around 3000ish posts that are directly viewable from your profile. It will not cover absolutely everything like the GDPR request will.

  • You can't go back that far, but the scripts that delete data should be able to delete everything that can reasonably be found using your profile.

  • Neither of those films are anywhere near low budget. Super 8 was a CGI blockbuster film. Brazil cost $15MM in 1985. Back to the future came out that same year and had a budget of $19MM, ET had a LOWER budget than Brazil. Both are great films, neither are low budget.
