  • That has to do with the fact that the entire American chicken industry is exploitative to the people raising the chickens as well as the chickens. Since the factory is both the hatchery and the processing plant, the farmers never even own the chickens. They're more like babysitting them by taking out a loan from the bank. They get squeezed, default, and somebody else comes along to keep it up. Reasonably this sort of business practice should be outlawed as anti-competitive.

  • Coffee actually is an effective medication for my depression. It has similar effects to buproprion on me (which is a amphetamine replacement class drug, though not an amphetamine itself), but to a lesser degree. This is good, because bupropion causes me to have tachycardia and hypomania. This is independent to any addiction, since I've gone years without having any. That there are tolerance levels to it, like any drug, doesn't mean it's not an effective self medication for some folks. And that correlation has been proven in scientific studies.

  • They're using it based on the ethnic majority vs minority, and it's pretty obvious. And yes, there is an ethnic majority to counterbalance an ethnic minority. They're talking about people who are german citizens but aren't german ethnics.

  • since they can pin that on a rouge actor, the Nazi’s

This is a take I don't agree with. There's absolutely elements of that, but they seem to also be very hostile to anyone that doesn't accept it as a "national guilt" that everyone's responsible for (including their Muslim immigrant population).

The right can then use this as a sort of concrete national character to persecute immigrants (thus the CDU support) while the left can use it as a rallying cry that they're fighting fascism (SDP support). It really is a perfect storm for awfulness.

  • It really depends on what you're talking about. If it's dedicated counter staff no. If it's waitstaff that is on waitstaff wages(as in a waitress went to get your food), maybe. The former should actually be having a competitive wage to employ them. The later were hired on with the expectation that they work for tips. Counter staff getting tips that they don't even share with back of the house is kind of dumb.

  • “The U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled that affirmative action is a violation of the 14th Amendment, and we believe the same reasoning will eventually be applied to the CROWN Act,” Poole said.

It’s unclear how the debate about the CROWN Act is analogous to that SCOTUS ruling.

The Texas Tribune reached out to Poole to clarify his comments, but he did not immediately respond.

That's because his comments are nonsensical for a lawyer in this case unless he meant that the supreme Court is giving him a full press pass to discriminate against black folk. That's literally the only way to interpret what he said.

Edit: Ah, that explains it, Poole is the superintendent of the schools not a lawyer. That's why he can't help but let his racist flag fly.
