Another reading of the election is that people were unwilling to crawl over the bodies of dead Palestinians to vote for a choice between maintaining the genocide or increasing it.

I don't particularly agree with that reasoning, but I understand it. Voters carry some blame, but it's ridiculous to say that it's mostly or even significantly the fault of voters. It's primarily an issue with the electoral system and the political parties within it.

Do you remember the precursor to hydrohomies? It didn't start as being racist, in fact it originally was a meme. It constantly got misinterpreted as racist because it was stripped of context. If something is constantly being misinterpreted as racist, then perhaps it's just bad symbolism and needs to be changed.

The election was 2 months ago. Stop hinging everything on something that happens once every 2 years, because there's nothing more to be done about it now. Kamala wasn't going to do shit to stop the genocide, and voters showed that it was an extremely important issue that the democratic candidate failed to differentiate on.

I'm in full agreement that it's one of the worst offenders in privacy violations. I'm not going to defend the company. I don't think the app should be banned though, politicians took the easy way out because they don't understand social media enough to regulate it and saw an opportunity to keep playing the geopolitics game. We need to organize and fight for privacy rights.

Banning apps as a consequence sure, but we know that this has everything to do with the second cold war and nothing to do with actual privacy concerns.

I only contact the police when it's absolutely necessary, which is to say I've never contacted the police. Cops are only capable of making a situation worse.

If my apartment had a break in, the only reason to call them is to file an insurance claim, which only matters if they walk off with 1 of 4 items worth more than $500. If I were mugged or had my ass beaten, there's a nonzero chance that I wouldn't even bother with a hospital let alone cops.

Well after all these years I've gotten used to it, but my vision is very blurry in that eye. There's also injury to the macula so there's a giant gray spot in my near vision. It's kinda like a giant peripheral vision, but I'm also more sensitive to big changes in brightness

I'd say it's more than just a hole. I had an eye injury when I was a teenager that caused a detached iris. I didn't have a massive pupil, I had 2 small, irregularly shaped pupils. After surgery, I now have a permanently dilated pupil shaped like a teardrop
