  • In a general sense, the difference between a regular workplace with a union and a worker co-op is that the company is, in part, managed and/or owned by the workers themselves. There's varying degrees of this, but the best (and unfortunately least common) co-ops elect their managers. It's my opinion that electing managers is a crucial part of a worker owned economy, but a union is still needed to represent the workers.

  • I'm aware of all of this, and have not discounted it. I've been harmed by the expectation of neurotypical behavior, regardless of whether I mask. I've been harmed by het expectations, regardless of masking. I pick and choose who I'm open with about these things within my personal life, but I don't hide it. You're making an assumption as well, that masking will prevent harm. There's a reason why I specifically said that it will lead to anguish, and that's because it's not a shelter. It creates a mental prison that will lead to a feeling of isolation.

  • with minimal effort

no, none of my action items are minimum effort, sorry. Defending democracy will never be a low strain activity. I'm organizing unions in my workplace by following the disruptive and worker-led Minnesota Model of organizing. We workers make the world go round. As the US labor movement gears up for a genuine general strike in 2028 (yes, we're following through with Fain's call to action), we need unions of all stripes to form. Labor unions, tenant unions, debtor unions, etc. Then after forming, we need unprecedented inter-union cooperation. It's ok to be tired and burnt out. Let yourself recover, and then continue the good fight.

  • As far as features go, I'd love for loops to get embedded!

I've noticed a couple fairly annoying and related bugs involving images on android (pixel 5a, f-droid release), but I haven't checked yet to see if it's been reported. When I select an image and then dismiss it with a swipe gesture, rarely I'll be taken to the communities menu and have my feed refresh and return to the top. Even more rarely, it will send me to my profile, then returns me to the communities menu, before returning to the spot I was in. It's entirely unpredictable from my testing, so attempts to record have been fruitless for me. Most often though, it occurs if I've scrolled through the feed for an extended period of time. It doesn't occur when selecting text threads or viewing comments though

  • As someone who has masked both neurodivergence and sexuality, it's not worth it. It will be challenging to navigate our biased and unaccommodating world, but the challenges pale in comparison to true happiness. Happiness is always fleeting, so seeking a negative peace pretending to be something you're not is a fool's errand. Hiding yourself will only ever lead to pain and mental anguish.

  • Well there's always the classics: Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Utah Phillips, Joe Glazer, Anne Feeney, Joe Hill renditions, Paul Robeson, etc.

Punk music generally has a socialist undertone, but I especially love Rise Against. Some other good bands are Dead Kennedys, NoFX, and Anti-Flag. They're also actively anti fascist community; Nazi punks fuck off
