  • Well look, I'm not advocating for this coming government nor am I an economic expert. But in a vacuum one could impose tariffs on imported goods, tank the cost of labor in your own country, and force manufacturing back here, right? And in the long run, would be beneficial for local manufacturing instead of being so dependent on China. If it weren't for the local oligarchy here I'd say it's even a tough but fair plan for the economy. Knowing what we know, things will only get harder with no observable benefit for the working class as whatever improvement we manage to make will be sucked away by the ruling class. But the plan isn't horseshit in a vacuum. Someone please feel free to tell me why I'm completely wrong as I'm not really speaking with too much conviction tbh

  • It's not even about the general populace and what they want. We the people do all the groundwork for progressive politics and in the end it's our own party that ignores us and does us in. That's why I'm demoralized personally. I don't think I'll ever get fired up again for this party unless there's radical shift to the left.

  • I mean think about what you need for an espresso machine. Precision machining, durable/expensive parts, a really strong boiler, it's generally quite hard to get that under $100. I will say with a LOT of work you can get amazing results with something like a picopresso or nanopresso

  • You guys just allergic to admitting her policy and campaign were shitty? She really didn't propose anything progressive whatsoever. I'm a Bernie guy and I reluctantly voted Harris. I knew it'd be another 4 years of stagnation, not progress.
