  • Thanks! I have a Victrola at home and just bought some new needles for it.

  • At the Atlanta History museum there's a whole "both sides" exhibit on the civil war that makes this argument (and makes me vomit).

They put it in just in time for the '96 Atlanta Olympics and it's been there ever since.

  • He/she forgets that they have tea in Britain and has seen Austin Powers

  • Unless I'm missing it, nowhere in the article or elsewhere did they say that ads only appeared one time.

They said that ads were served for one particular account 50 times (and presumably have data to back that up but I'm not inclined to give them benefit of the doubt). And that media matters had scrolled/refreshed a bunch of times to see whose ads would be displayed. Which seems reasonable to me.

Then TwitX made some claim about "50 out of 50 billion ads served" or something, which is a disingenuous comparison. This was one example of a problem. No one claimed it was the only example, so why would anyone compare against all ads served anywhere?

  • I have yet to see any of those in any thread in the last few days. Virtually all have been either negative or neutral to Altman.

  • All reports were that he was leading the charge, in fact.

  • Doesn't seem crazy or MAGA to me at all.

  • Guess we just might live the good life yet

  • I wish one of these projects would bring in changes from some fork of emulation station I can't track down.

I had a handheld that came with some emuelec-based image. That in turn had some version of emulation station that was freaking AWESOME. Had way way more features, including the ability to configure a bunch of things like whether rewind support was enabled, etc. When I moved to the ES:DE one I thought it was a huge downgrade, then realized it's pretty much the main one everyone uses. I don't get why they haven't brought in these other features.

I also haven't been able to find the fork; I should go look again.

  • It's a shame no one has invented copy and paste yet.

  • Like what should be off by default

  • How does this mean they were blindsided...?

  • No, something from a month ago already publicized isn't likely to cause them to fire them like this.
