  • John Oliver stepped up, although not on the Daily Show itself. I'm always excited to have something new ruined for me every week.

  • Really weird to stumble onto a blog written by someone you vaguely knew in college almost 20 years ago... Anyway, nice job, Ed Zitron.

  • In that case you tap the card and it pops up to show the text. Still pretty intuitive. I guess if you've never played a deck building game or RPG it could be confusing?

  • I've always just dragged the cards rather than using successive taps. It's pretty intuitive in my opinion. I would have never thought to call that a virtual mouse...

Deselecting a card without casting it can be a little tricky, but you can usually tap another card or something without causing an issue.

  • There's no virtual mouse, are you thinking of the wrong game?

  • Agreed, I gave up on beating gold stake when I would lose most of the runs on the first couple antes. I think it's good to have a brutally difficult mode, I hope they didn't go overboard on easing it up, but it was good to ease up a bit.

  • Here's a very relevant portion of the article:

A former investment banker and real estate broker who was endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 2022, Correa represents the heavily Latino community of Santa Ana, as well as Anaheim, home of the Disneyland theme park. The district is 65 percent Latino. But Correa really is a representative of the California delegation, which has a significant role on the Antitrust Subcommittee with four Democratic seats. The delegation, led by senior Democrat and Silicon Valley Rep. Zoe Lofgren, is strongly pro–Big Tech, and opposed to stronger antitrust enforcement more generally. Not only did Correa oppose the tech antitrust bills in the last Congress, he voted against increasing merger filing fees and devoting more resources to the FTC and DOJ, a bill that eventually passed Congress.

  • Wow, a bunch of these changes make sense, but I'm not sure how I feel about making so many changes to make things easier.

  • I'm kind of addicted to watching these videos, but for the life of me I can't understand how some of these professional musicians haven't heard some of the most famous songs of the past 30 years or whatever.

  • Better leader? He's a great cult leader I guess.

  • Now this is a solid April Fools joke.

  • Same, however, I keep my phone on vibrate so I never actually hear it.

  • Has Discord ever been remotely profitable though? I can't imagine enough people put money into it that they haven't just been bleeding cash for 10 years. It's hard for me to exactly call it greed if they're just trying to get back to even. I could imagine it being completely enshittified in the name of profit in the future though.

  • Wow, thank you. It would be so much clearer if they didn't omit the word "that".

  • Ok I've read the headline like ten times. That's not a sentence, right?
