  • For every religious holiday, there is an equal and opposite secular holiday.

  • Can you inquire with your local leadership about encroaching into the roadway? It really does seem like this would be your best option. Or reconstruction.

  • I am assuming you are dealing with 1099 income. As someone who had that 15+ years ago and didn't understand some things, I really hope you understood while earning that you have to pay both your portion of Social Security, and your "employer" would pay since you are your employer (even tho it's BS in this case). I didn't and owed a huge amount of money. Over US$3k. And I was making $10/hr so that was a lot. I had to get another job to pay it. I hope you'll be ok and are happy with what you do!

  • I always thought he was basically living it up, happy to still be a Prince. I assumed fewer responsibilities, but perhaps the pay was terrible haha.

  • Did they ever find that guy's body? Maybe he is in one of these places.

  • This looks interesting. It looks geared to importing data from a service (like Spotify), how would one import data from the radio or mp3 files? I don't really stream music but love the idea of new ways to find new music.

  • Very possible that the school district has a high percentage of Mormons.

  • There is a movie about jury nullification, ya? I tried looking it up but I can't remember enough details. It's from the mid 90s. About a gun case. Maybe helpful and required watching? Maybe I am off.

I am happy to hear she wasn't tried but it's terrible it got this far 😠

  • So he wasn't authorized to speak, but did anyways?

This is a fraud on me

Said the United States of America 🙁

  • Wow this is crazy, I never heard of this band until today, but heard one of their songs featuring Chaka Khan on the radio earlier!

Anyway, I listened to this one, too. Thanks for sharing!

  • I agree with both you and HikingVet@lemmy.ca but somehow interpreted that sentence differently. Thanks for helping see it! Not great either way I guess, tho 🙁

  • My thoughts as well. This leads to "only approved books allowed."

  • That makes sense. Sorry to hear there is an issue with discrimination. Also sorry to conflate them with sov cits.

  • travelers

I'm curious what this means. I am guessing not tourists, and I also think of folks in the US who are sovereign citizens. Is that a thing in parts or Europe?

  • Good point. I apologize for a fairly off the cuff remark about this. We really do need better mental health support in the US.

  • Wow, it looks like that info is about 50 years old, making it even worse... It also looks like it says the folks looking to use that method may have sought out others, I wonder how we as a society have performed on that since that time. Also, I am generally poor at reading abstracts, apologies if I am getting this wrong.

    Thanks for sharing!!

  • Removing carbon monoxide from cooking gas lines in the UK caused a massive drop in suicides

Did it really? I live in the US and have read that an inexpensive improvement to burners would lead to decreased indoor air pollution, but industry is against it. This other tidbit would make that resistance so much worse than it already is.

  • meeting resistance from people who did not want to alter the iconic landmark

Well this attitude leads to not only increased homelessness, buy I guess also suicide rates 🙁
