I know some people in nuclear power and get in arguments with them all the time about this. (they're not big fans of renewables. shocker.) But they're right that renewables just aren't ready to take over yet. Where I'd say we need to fund renewable research and development—they are deadset it's a waste of money. But fossil fuels have got to go. I think it'd be for the best if no one was ever comfortable with nuclear but I just don't see another alternative that works with how quickly we are killing the planet. 🤷‍♂️

It's not as toxic as coal. It is only that you are used to those effects. It's also a safer industry to work in. Technically safer even than wind and solar last I looked. I wouldn't treat it as a permanent solution. But it could keep the lights on while we pivot to renewables.

You seem to love this idea about the way the world should work to the extent you ignore how it actually runs. Show me the test that indicates a pregnancy is a product of rape. Or will the woman have to wait until the sentencing? (You do understand many many rapes are never reported?) Birth control fails! A big swath of abortions are from married women with kids who just want to best provide for the families they have. So to 'save' a fetus we condemn other kids? How does that make any sense to you? Arguments to deny reproductive autonomy are completely illogical.

'Where has the cutting board wandered off to?' Something passively accusatory. Everyone knows the board didn't move itself, but the speaker is not assigning blame. ...and because everyone knows that there is blame to be assigned, the annoyance is sort of implied?

Had a friend with a kid getting bullied badly before the start of covid. They said going online was the best thing for him, emotionally and grade-wise. Gave him a chance to break the anxiety cycle and room to breathe. I hope yours has found their way to thrive!
