  • Trump and Biden are both pro-genocide, yes, though Biden should be held accountable by democrat standards, not republican ones. It's about the party principles in terms of those too, Biden had to pay a price for his fanaticism.

But I was talking about Israel and Palestine/Gaza.

  • I did this during an international trip last year coming back into the country. The guy mostly seemed confused and kind of suspicious, but it was nbd.

They will potentially take you out of line to a side room to hand you off to someone else. It seemed to be an area where they deal with any oddball kind of things. There was a lady ahead of me who was more raucus and upset about some issue with her ID. The guy who checked mine mainly seemed kind of bemused, like it was unusual.

Be prepared for "We have the biometric data from your photo already, why do you care?"

You're not obligated to give them a super detailed justification. Just remain polite and unconfrontational, and explain that you prefer not use the system as long as the right remains afforded to you to opt out.

(Note, this right only extends to US citizens)

  • You're not pro-ceasefire if you think this is a "bothsides" issue. Israel has all the power. You know how you can tell without being an "expert"? Just look at the skeletal, starved, mutilated bodies of the children in Gaza and compare it to what's going on in Tel Aviv. Go look at the images from Gaza and try to tell me with a serious face it's "bothsides".

No. Joe is a genocide supporter, and so are those who make excuses for him.

  • She at the every least had the decency to distance herself from Joe's fanaticism when he started giving his full-throated support for the genocide. She's still culpable, but represents a step in the right direction, away from right-wing extremism.

  • Biden was going to lose to Trump. So from both a moral and pragmatic perspective, it's good he's gone. You might be pro-bombing Palestinian children, you do you, but if you want a Dem president, this is the only way. It just so happens to also be a referendum on Biden's zionism.

  • Biden also has endorsed Harris already, so potentially a sign of where things will go. 59 years old is not too bad under the circumstances.

  • Israel is a client of the US, not vice versa. Turkey occupies the same geographic space. The propping up the Israel is an ideological policy by the right-wing, not a meaningful geopolitical one for our nation.

  • She was a prosecutor, not a cop. But in this context it doesn't really matter, there isn't going to be a progressive option.

  • Honestly, it will bring out all the worst sides of Trump, which is potentially good. His base eats up that racist misogynist stuff, the majority of voters not so much. Most people are probably indifferent, after all the shit we've seen since 2016, a black woman president isn't that remarkable anymore. Trump trying to rally people on that will make him look like a loser.

  • Joe is an extremist when it comes to Israel, even for a right-wing democrat. He literally went around Obama to make promises to Netanyahu during their term. If we get someone without dementia and who is less enthusiastic about killing palestinian children that's still a net benefit.

Harris is best to mitigate legal challenges.

  • Good. So long Genocide Joe.

Edit: To the neoliberals downvoting this, this is what your denial is supporting. Joe Biden is pro-genocide and so is anyone who supports him. There's not even a practical reason to support him at this point, which is very telling to anyone still defending him.

Fuck zionism. And fuck anyone who thinks Biden is a "good guy" or moral by any stretch of the word.

  • People have understood. Biden is a sure loss, he literally cannot win. So the next best option is Harris. The question mark is, as AOC points out, will these wealthy donors realize that or will they sabotage the party.

Biden still needs to go. No question. Biden attempting to campaign will put Trump into office.

  • I wonder if it's finally starting to sink in for liberals why the "far left" was never interested in candidates who rambled about "bipartisanship" and "reaching across the aisle" and "compromise" with the far right.

  • Clinton probably shares the most responsibility of any individual person for the Trump presidency. Only a Trump supporter would want Clinton at this point.

  • It still finally starts to break the narrative that Israel and right-wingers in the US have been spinning for the past 70 years, which has value.

Once that spell is broken there's no putting it back in place, and as Israel starts being seen by people as just another country it becomes easier and easier for the discussion to be about why the world is supporting them in behaving this way.

We will see it discussed more openly and frankly by our political candidates, it opens the real possibility of getting zionism out of our politics in the US eventually. Sadly it does not help people who are suffering right now, but it's a pretty huge shift in the perception of Israel and that's important.

  • Download the kiwix app for whatever OS you're using, then go into Kiwix and click on the folder icon in the app and navigate to where the .zim file you downloaded is located. If you click it it should automatically pop-up and be viewable.

If you did that and it's still failing, is it giving you a specific error or anything?

  • Like I said, it was heavily implied to get him into office. He never corrected anyone because he knew it was helping him.

  • I feel angry and betrayed that the guy who got elected by heavily implying he'd be a one term "caretaker" president went and used the power we gave him to help slaughter and starve a bunch of innocent men, women and children and is now clinging to power in the face of record unpopularity and is costing us our democracy.

The narcissistic entitlement of this man is quite literally Trump-like in its scale. Acting like a child having his toy taken away.

No one cares that you spent your whole life chasing the presidency, Joe. You're unpopular and your legacy will be that of the guy who funded one of the most egregious genocides of this century.

  • The 100Gb version mentioned above does only have thumbnails/lowres pictures, yeah. Better than nothing for some types of articles, but not everything. The true text-only version is actually only ~53Gb though.

  • I'm all for ranked choice, there's no real downside. I think though that Republicans, rather than become less extreme, would simply challenge ranked choice when it started to benefit the left. They are actually doing this now in Alaska, where there is ranked choice voting and they're trying to make it illegal with a ballot initiative.

They'd have to have their judicial power reduced I think. With the extremist supreme court there isn't much in the regard that would stand I don't think. Could be wrong though.
