I wasn't aware of that and thanks for letting me know. I'll steer clear of the gooseberries.

Most everything on my property is perennial. So, not planting anything lately. Just trying to reduce the amount of lawn mowing by laying down landscaping fabric and covering that with bark mulch. I'll come back next year and plant more perennials in those areas. Probably fruit-bearing bushes like gooseberries and elderberries.

Sort of off topic comment incoming. I just wanted to say that I am very pleased to see a post here about football. My brother got me interested in the sport just three years ago so I am still a newbie. Please, post as much football stuff here as you'd like.

I’ll admit a curiosity about you starting r/AskBibleScholars as a secular guy.

I was raised in evangelical Christian churches. I used academic biblical studies to de-brainwash my mind. It worked and I saw how it could help other people.

By immediate family members I meant my wife, two sons and my brother. I am very fortunate that we all love each other very much.

Especially not queer people.

My eldest son is gay. He's fortunate that his mother and I are very liberal and non-religious. I've had many queer friends with unsupportive parents and it is very sad.

Says who? You? Maybe they once were not that sincere and have since had a change of heart. BTW, the Gates Foundation has done a tremendous amount of good over the years.
