  • The R9 380 was a rebrand of the R9 285, which was the first card to require the use of the new amdgpu driver. The R9 390 was a rebrand of the R9 290, which did not force the use of amdgpu, but optionally supports it through a kernel flag.

  • microG is an open source, reverse engineered replacement for Google Play Services on Android. It still connects to Google servers, though.

GrapheneOS doesn't use it because they came up with an effective Sandboxing solution, and microG requires spoofing the signature to make applications believe that the service was signed by Google, which introduces a potential attack vector.

  • Lol, that was funny. The powerful in the US don't even care about domestic law, let alone international law, which has even less of an enforcement mechanism without the risk of starting an international conflict.

It's the same reason why Netanyahu and Putin haven't been arrested even though they have warrants out for their arrest by the ICJ.

  • We've had over a decade of political compass memes at this point. Left ≠ authoritarian and right (as we are clearly seeing now) ≠ libertarianism.

Just because I'm a socialist doesn't mean I support the CCP or other authoritarian governments.

  • Yeah. A CRT at 1280x1024 looks just as good as my 4K TV in terms of clarity in TV/movies/video games. Really, text is the only thing that's worse. Hell, even 720p looks amazing in a side by side comparison with native 4K content on my relatively high end 4K TV (Hisense U8 series).
