Well, billionaires and oligarchs are the deep state and always have been. The GOP is just their puppet. DNC is as well, but they're less relevant nowadays.

Just recently, the new head of the DNC stated that they only want to take money from "good billionaires" and not "bad billionaires", and meanwhile the GOP (represented by Trump) just installed the richest man on Earth who's also a Nazi as essentially king of America so he can ignore being president and go golfing.

One is clearly better than the other, but that side is controlled oppositition bought by the billionaire class as well, which creates a ratchet effect where the range of "acceptable" political beliefs shifts further and further right, as we've seen since at least the 70s, but which really ramped up with Reagan and Bill Clinton's introduction of neoliberal idiology to the US.

Democrats are weak on purpose, though, since they are paid by wealthy elites specifically to not be left wing. Until they all stop taking all corporate money, we will be stuck in the same "ratchet effect" situation that we've been in until something finally breaks and the government is dissolved one way or the other for some reason (military coup, violent revolution, etc.)

Been using the free tier of Tuta for years now with zero issues. The only thing is they delete your account after 6 months of not logging in (the timer resets every time you log in). Pretty sure that only applies to the free tier, though.

Magic Earth is proprietary, though. You can believe their privacy policy, but I have trouble believing any privacy policy if I can't see the source code.

Exactly. I'm glad you can agree on this point with a very obviously not sarcastic comment, as Mussolini wasn't in fact, a Nazi, but just allied with the Nazis, had a very similar idiology that the Nazis took ideas from, and was also a fascist dictator.

Opus is great, but there is no option to make it lossless, like what WavPack (also a free-as-in-freedom codec) provides for example.

I'm American, and not once have I had that experience.

It's just what they officially announced. The workarounds to work fine for now, but who knows how long?

The workarounds are just for detecting what is cached or not, but if the API shuts down, then you will not be able to interact with RD using apps, similar to how the Reddit API closure did the same thing.
