  • Not necessailly federation, but I've seen a lot of people prejudge commenters for what instance they're a part of, most commonly calling people from .ml or hexbear tankies just for being on .ml or hexbear. It gets old really quickly.

  • Laser health and blank CD quality just aren't what they used to be (especially after Taiyo Yuden shut down). This is still what I'm doing with my PS1, but I plan on upgrading to an ODE when I get the chance.

  • There are people who legit do not care about any other person than themselves. This isn't a question of legality, but morality.

The question you have to ask is "who do these actions benefit the most?"

Harriet Tubman absolutely cared about other people, otherwise she wouldn't have done what she did to help free slaves or advocate for women's sufferage.

How much did Robin Hood personally benefit from stealing from the rich and giving to the poor? If he was truely selfish, wouldn't he have kept all the riches to himself? Sure, he got fame and notoriety, but I think we all know that riches = power, and it has always been that way ever since large civilzations began.

Also a counterpoint: Following the law does not make you just if the laws you follow are unjust laws, especially if they hurt other people. The obvious example here would be Nazi Germany. Nazis were just following orders, and anyone who rightfully resisted their regime were severely punished. Were the people who resisted bad people? Were the people who followed the law good people?

Now, take someone like Trump. Has he ever done something in his life to benefit another person over himself? Has he ever made a sacrifice in service to another person? I'm not counting tit-for-tat corrupt dealings here, but genuine actions of kindness. What about Elon or Zuckerberg?

  • Trump's comment about Elon who "knows those computers very well" relating to voting machines makes me think that all the other crimes he did before are small fries comparitively to what Elon has on him/what Trump owes Elon.

Trump allowing himself to be openly cucked by Elon repeatedly is not something that he would just let happen without something big going on behind the scenes. Trump is a massive narcissist, and he is not afraid to tell people to fuck off normally if they steal his spotlight or slightly disagree with him. Just look at his last administration for plenty of examples.

  • Or if you prefer original hardware, flash carts and optical drive emulators.

MiSTer is another great option that's like a halfway point between software emulation and real hardware. It's still emulation, but it's done in hardware instead of software.

  • Yeah, I had to exchange my laptop for another one with an AMD GPU because Wayland was so broken, and I was getting serious input lag in games, even on X11.

And this was a few months ago. NVK worked a bit better, but compatibility wasn't great, and performance was about 50% of the proprietary driver.
