  • wow its amazing how many Operating Systems Freetube supports. I tried AppImage on Linux Mint. Download. Set execution bit. Starting. Start Watching! Amazing!

  • I dont know how to mount external drives on Bash without root privilegues. On the Desktop environment it can be done by just clicking without root password.

  • Which server are you using on linux? How did you configure autostart?

  • Isnt Remmina a client only? Or can it be configured to autolaunch a VNC/RDP server?

  • What is wrong with it? (I have no clue, never used it)

  • Tried it on VM and Backup Notebooks. Especially on old Notebooks its hardly usable.

  • Thanks for all your discussions. All your experiences are very helpful for me. Now here is my top list and reasons:

    1. Cinnamon (most familiar and very stable for me)
    2. XFCE (I like the responseness and lightweightness)
    3. MATE (stable and reliable)
    4. KDE (I like the configurability, but unfortunately I experienced a lot of instabilities and accidents)
    5. Gnome (I don't like the new UI concept. When I tried it, it was laggy and non-responsive)

    Out of this list:

    • I3 (only head good things, but never tried it on my own installation)
    • Cosmic (first time I heard about today)
    • Budgie (first time I heard about today)
  • F-Droid Classic can automatically download new Updates. And if it has root access, then automatic installation of these Updates should be possible. Since I have not rooted my phone I cannot confirm if this is working.

The advantage for me personally is, that the User Interface is very easy and use. This gives me time back when I am searching apps or doing manual updates.

  • Void seems cool.

But battery might be important since a lot of laptops will not start if the batttery is missing or has undervoltage. General advise would therefore be to not discharge the battery to a bare mininum but to keep it always at least 20-30% charged. Especially when Laptop is not used for longer time.
