  • Thank you for your servicešŸ«”šŸ’•

  • It's 0.21.0 as of Nov 23, 2024

    Sorry for the late reply!
I'm currently battling a cold that was passed on by my family so I've been phasing in and out of fever dreams for the past couple of days

  • I'm gonna suggest that for the fediverse here we might want to implement rules that decreases the amount of AI generated crap as it's just useless and adds garbage that most people scroll past to get the posts and content that we actually want

The entirety of the current AI craze just reminds me of the GDC talk: 1,500 Slot Machines Walk into a Bar: Adventures in Quantity Over Quality

  • Ah thank you! I didn't realize it was made by Dan. In that case Loops is probably a safer bet than the current alternativesšŸ‘

  • Loops hasn’t yet released its source code or enabled federation, but project lead Dan Supernault has stated that he will do both in the near future.

Buying into promises is a gamble dependant on the crediblity and trustworthiness of the person/entity making them

  • I died when he cracked up a bitšŸ˜‚

  • Haven't seen this on Android, iOS users might have this issue

    • can't tell till others chime in
  • At this point in life, people are better off not trusting what any for-profit corporation says at first glance.

It's quite likely that what they say and do is to protect themselves and their investors rather than be truthful and transparent.

  • I like the nice snap sound the case makes when it closesšŸ‘

btw where did you separately buy the glass and are they prescription glasses?

  • Reporting typically works bestšŸ‘

  • Huh in that case I wonder if both instance and defederation works by sort of pausing/suspending the new content updates.

Sort of like how Newpipe works is that new content could be available on your home/sub feed but won't show up unless explicitly updated (by swiping down). Although for this analogy to work, banning would be equivalent to a filter/block in Voyager although it'll only work for newer content?šŸ¤”

That's my new guess anyways, not sure if it'll help!šŸ˜…šŸ¤—

  • I did get that, I just don't understand as to why that's happening; maybe a federation error?

  • It’s almost like their new posts are ā€œdefederatedā€ from my home instance.

That part is odd and I don't really have a good guess or assumption as to why that's happening.

The posts they make are in a federated community with my home instance. I’d bet if they replied to this comment, I wouldn’t see their reply. (assuming this comment is even visible to them).

As far as I understand the system; banned users shouldn't be able to make comments on a home instance their banned from unless something is broken or has been deliberately been changed.

  • If user A from instance 0 is banned from instance 1, then they can't post on any instance 1 posts

but on instances outside of 1, they'll still be able to interact with instance 1 users as far as I'm aware.

    Pinging as asked:
    @sbf@feddit.org

  • Structurally I know how things should work, but sometimes trying to program it tho...

  • this is actually great lol

    What a delightfully plesant link!
    Thanks for sharingšŸ¤—šŸŒ»
