  • I used to use Ampache, say 14 years ago, and I liked it a lot. Until I ran an unrelated batch job to reorganize my music files that went sideways, and started streaming from Google music. I've been meaning to try it out again, or something like it.

  • I've always thought that bank statements should require cryptographic signatures for ledger balances. Same with individual financial transactions, especially customer payments.

    Without this we're pretty much at the mercy of trust with banks and payment card providers.

    I imagine there's a lot of integrity requirements for financial transactions on the back end, but the consumer has no positive proof except easily forged statements.

  • There's never been a bad year for the Linux desktop. The share size doesn't matter. So, yes, it is the year of the Linux desktop in my book and it has been that way for decades.

  • Probably because Fox only makes good revenues when their buffoons aren't in charge to undermine their narratives with utter incompetence and pure greed.

    Fox needs its viewers to want to start winning, not to be winning. That's why Tucker publicly put a stop to the Biden "crime family" claims right before the 2020 election, and resumed right after it.

    Their viewership does best when their claims are not falsifiable.
