I kinda don't understand why we don't see more defamation cases around political lies. There should be a special fast lane in the courts for these.

Y'all need to get on board with diversity of tactics. Memeing on your ass isn't going to cut it alone.

The union's job is to empower the workers, like it or not, by getting inserted at the RNC, it will have a lasting impact.

If the hand we're playing is such that we cannot feasibly raise the service minimum wage and abolish tipping, but we can exempt tips from taxation, I don't see any reason not to take that action.

But it seems theatrical. How much revenue does US actually take in from this type of income? I bet it doesn't even make an impact. May as well use it as a political tool with the side effect of helping some workers too.

Until we can figure out a better way to have society. I just don't see the downside.

Dropping out because of "must defeat trump" is not a point-A-to-point-B reasoning. I think it was the right choice though. You can't kick the can down the road forever.

Just another note, Biden has also mentioned he would sign this into law. This would be even better for Dems than Kamala's promise. For an election cycle, it would basically delete any value of Trump's promise to tip earners.

I've seen "no tax on tips" on Trump billboards on my area. Clearly Trump thinks it's an important issue. Having made them waste money would be a hilarious win, also preventing undecided voters from turning out for Trump on this single-issue is a clear strategic design.

I'm thinking in the political game theory, it makes sense because it's going to force Republicans to either support it or oppose it, either of which will make them look silly as trump supporters.

The revenue losses would need to be made up in another way, which would ideally be closing loopholes and more dependably taxing the wealthy. That is assuming that the segment of revenue from tips is even substantial enough to matter.

Anyway it's going to force the Trump camp to respond. And pretty much every time you do that it provokes more unforced errors from them because they are clueless.

It sounds like we're planning on a major regional conflict unfolding. Hopefully the plans are merely precautionary.
