  • It works though, that's why they keep doing it. It's slow as hell and inhumane, but they can afford it for many more years I'd wager. Their capabilities of data gathering/transmission are much better these days as well. Also don't forget they set up wired drone production (in serious numbers at least) first, they can be smart at times.

    Underestimating them irl is pointless.

  • As long as nobody was harmed they could blow up a hundred rockets for all I care. Maybe it'll even help with competition, like make other companies switch launch vehicles, so it might be a good thing (just not for them) lol

  • They're still made with american parts. Gripen - american engine, Eurofighter - american nav systems and targeting, Rafale - american electrical, hydraulic, targeting. Probably more that I'm forgetting about.

So they could go that route, but ultimately they'll still be giving the US money and work (also for replacement parts/servicing, possibly training).
And then they'll have to wait even longer to get their planes.

Their procurement game is dogshit, what can I say.

    Also, lol

Construction of two new fighter squadron facilities in Cold Lake, Alta., and Bagotville, Que., to accommodate the F-35s is more than three years behind schedule and the Forces are facing a possible shortage of qualified pilots, the watchdog said Tuesday.

  • Not meant as an insult most likely

  • It's not exclusive to any one group. The main problem here is they're engaging (allegedly) in good faith - using a lot of publicity from widely known people, posting updates, showing their heading etc. Meanwhile their opponent does not give a shit about acting in good faith.

Kinda like trying to talk sense into someone who's only interested in beating you up and will never change their mind about it.

For some reason they either refuse to accept the fact that they won't be treated fairly, so they keep trying to do stuff by the book (doesn't work against liars). Or maybe they were just trying to get some publicity, and in turn inspire more attempts. Idk, I'm not them.
I am pretty sure they expected it to go south. But hey, at least they can say they tried. Perhaps that was the goal - to try.

  • The discussion was about accidental presses, that's a problem that is non-existent for 99% of people because they use a case (to protect the phone from drops bc it's glass). Glass screens are afraid of drops, but most people prefer that to plastic that scratches really easily. I'd rather not go back to plastic screens.

If you want, you can buy a drop-resistant phone with thick bezels and extra padding already included. XR21 for example, or whatever unihertz is doing. Plenty of phones have started doing grippy panels too.

  • Have you looked into getting a dongle dac? Since most phones don't have them built-in anymore. Would also widen your search area bc pretty much all modern phones with IR blasters are jack-less

  • Idk, mine are very thin and with a case on it's not a problem. More screen real estate while keeping the same dimensions is a good thing imo.

  • tbf we don't know how many of those are real people, they love big fake numbers over there

  • Should be kept that way imo. The risk of telling him is not worth it

  • Are they? They stopped letting the americans tour their nuke facilities a while ago, basically nullifying that part of the agreement. What's stopping them from doing the same again?

  • wow you're such an empath

  • Rss? Granted I haven't touched it in years so idk if it's still good

  • manjaro w/ plasma, haven't tried that many others but it feels really good

  • People keep buying their cards, why would they not raise prices? If you look at the backlash to the 50 series launch and it's "4090 performance" claims, upscaling and framegen can have the opposite effect on perception, yet people keep buying. Even in AMD's case the cards are at 50% over MSRP yet they sell.

The biggest reason still is rampant consumerism. If people voted with their wallets it wouldn't be this bad imo.

  • 1100 kg of explosives apparently, but yeah wish it was more spectacular

  • Or i just check pcgw and get disappointed. Oh well, if I can at least change the frame weight it's usually bearable, otherwise I'll just not bother

edit: or if the game lets me hack it off, otherwise I'd rather skip

edit2: also you can use FSR on pretty much any game now, regardless of AA, at least that's what it looks like from my driver. So forced upscaling usually equals forced taa

  • That's your preference tbh, same as AA for most people. Also you can upscale from higher res, it doesn't have to be 50%.
As long as it's not forced - more options are welcome in my opinion.

Personally I'm not a fan of anything other than NativeAA/DLAA, but it's a smaller issue for me than forced TAA or forced software RT.

  • One important thing - upscaling does help with low spec/low power gaming (esp on smaller screens). Obviously it's a double edged sword (promotes pushing out games quicker), but it has some really cool uses. Now forced TAA on the other hand...

Both are tolerable, but only if they're not forced, and for some reason companies have a hard-on for forcing them. Kinda like how 103° FOV limit somehow became a standard even in fast-paced competitive games
