  • Sure, but there are thousands of games. Tons of options. Meh. I already have more than I could play in my lifetime.

  • I still reach for Perl when bash isn't enough.

  • Low-key yeah for gaming. Depending on the games. Some benchmarks are coming back with sizeable performance boosts under the (better-optimized) Linux in some scenarios despite the API layer of Wine.

  • Totally! Been a while since they put out a new episode.

  • Some of that (not all) is anti EV propaganda, both funded by competitors or exaggerations and sometimes outright fabrication by people who (justifiably) dislike Musk.

  • What, boo. Nutmeg is great. My experience with people not liking eggnog is that they don't like the stuff labeled eggnog you get at the supermarket.

The real stuff, made with egg yolks, with lots of booze, left to age a month or two, excellent.

  • Burning isn't the right word necessarily. Plasma gas plants disassociate stuff into constituent elements and produce nothing toxic. They're just expensive to start up and there aren't many.

  • I had assumed it already was. Dangit. Proprietary software really sneaks its way into your life sometimes. :(

Nothing against Kuro but I do try to lean toward FOSS.

  • I might find that reassuring in 1923, if the world makes it a full 100 years with only one global scale war. It's a great run by historic standards.

  • Colourful metaphor but accurate. Try to do things The Debian Way first and you'll rarely get into trouble. Start screwing with existing packages and you break assumptions fast.

  • "100 grand", "milky way" (heard of but never tried), "almond joy" (vaguely familiar but never tried), and .. "York"? "Yonk"?

  • Classic memes, so old some people still called em image macros.

  • Half of these I've never heard of, so I'd try one of those out of curiosity. American candy?

  • Is HDR just so amazing that it's worth the hassle of using windows though? Games get shinier all the time, it's not really exciting to me anymore. Give it a year and it'll be in anyway, and people will be on to the next randomnhotness that they can't possibly live without that somehow they were fine without the year previous.

  • Far longer, with a trust and prudent investment.

  • Yes, all that is true, but there are also instances in which they are the middleman taking a cut out of proportion to their value add. It was just one example out of many.

  • It could be true that middlemen are doing the profit-taking. Like, Amazon produces nothing, but takes a huge cut. So to see any profit, the producers reduce quality, quantity, etc. Of course, Amazon just tightens the screws and takes whatever profit they do eke out.

  • LaserJet 4 was a tank. Everything since has been various flavours of mediocre. Buy Brother.
