  • I either charge at home, or at work, or if there happens to be a charger at my destination but I'm almost never waiting to charge.

I've frequently had to wait for a pump or had to go out of my way to get to a working pump. Gas pumps don't work when the power goes out but batteries stay charged. I've actually had to load up my gas generator in my ev to drive 2 towns over during a power outage to get fuel...to keep my pets alive. Car only had about 30% charge to start and roughly 22% when I was back. Generator had 0 gas to start (had just run through my old gas) and was full when I got back....also the power decided to come back on which began refueling my ev.

  • Am in Texas (Dallas area) I commute 33 miles each way in an electric Fiat 500. I actually do feel plenty safe (car is insanely stable but also far safer than my other commuter which is a klr650 motorcycle) but do have issues with road rage. I legitly don't care if someone hits me in this car as it wouldn't be the first time and I have full confidence I'll be safe.......on the other hand I don't appreciate how unsafe large vehicles tend to be nor how difficult they can make visibility.

I used to drive semi trucks for a living and I'd personally pick the Fiat over the Freightliner every time.

  • Ex-trucker here all you gotta do is Pay us more Respect us Idk make the job suck less? Pay us more

Look I make as much sitting at a desk doing nothing all day than I did hauling flatbed. Hilariously when I need to drive somewhere for work I get paid more per mile (.65¢ vs .45¢) than I did driving a truck.

  • They are perfect at temperature regulation. I have a little 120v unit that even has a hold @ temperature function. Goes as low as 180 and I think as high as 500°

Remember induction heats the pan directly via induction and thus requires cookware that a magnet can stick to. Otherwise faster, more efficient, easy to control

  • In a nutshell (eli5) swap is sorta "very slow ram" which is actually just a section of your hard drive /SSD/some other bizarre medium. It is generally used to temporarily store information that might be needed later but would waste valuable "fast ram" which is your actual ram sticks.

What's going on here is this user mounted Google drive in a way that the operating system can interact more directly with it, and it appears to have a set amount of space. Because we've mounted Google Drive we can tell our operating system to use it as swap....very very slow silly swap, but swap nonetheless.

So that's exactly what they did, they told the operating system to set aside X amount of Google Drive for swap, and when looking at the resource monitor we can see the "swap" appears as "more ram".

Hope that helps, please ask if I confused you :)

  • Absolutely no traffic + taking toll roads: about 30 minutes.

Normal traffic + avoiding a toll road 50 minutes

Traffic: 1 hr to 1.5 or if it's really bad you just won't get home... seriously.

I like the time I have to listen to music or kinda rant to myself, I see a lot of interesting stuff.

I hate my commute, give me work from home I am a fucking IT dude who does everything remotely anyways.

I drive 20-25k miles a year in an ev that can "only" go 80 miles. My daily round trip is 66 miles. (I level 1 charge at work if you're curious)

It's wild how many of my coworkers will tell me "just buy a closer house lol" yeah sorry I can barely afford to rent where I live 3 counties away.

Leaving before 6:55-7 will save you as much as 20 minutes. Leaving after 7 people are generally going 5-10mph under the highway limit as I suspect many just woke up lol.

  • If I'm not mistaken it's possible to add bulbs via bridge alone due to how they work.

That being said, stop buying hue bulbs. Once you have home assistant you can integrate other brands into the mix. Don't reward Phillips after they try to steal your information.

  • Absolutely min things to swap Gonna need a battery of some kind 3 phase induction motor (probably) Motor speed controller Some sort of battery charger Big inverter for big motor An ecu-like thing to control everything Specifics about how to make this all work in a vehicle will depend wildly on which vehicle. Some basically can have these things bolted on, others require special assemblies to get the power to the wheels somehow.

An ev swap can be (relatively) cheap and simple or wildly expensive and difficult just depends on your goals.

Most of the parts I mentioned are available as off the shelf components and sometimes even as a swap kit.

  • As another comment has mentioned get yourself an indexer (geek is fine and cheap) setup sabnzb and follow this wiki

Oh you'll also need a provider and I've had good luck with newshosting (not affiliated) but there are cheaper options too.

I hope this helps you in your quest to fill your storage.

    PS here's the jellyfin documentation

PPS get a VPN like Mullvad just to be safe.
