  • He will likely release them to manufacture the consent required to dismantle, or at least retool, the fbi and cia so that he can further consolidate power.

It wouldn't change my opinion tbh. Regardless of what is in the documents, the country is literally dripping with blood from the domestic and international assassinations, coups, genocides, etc.. I'm not sure my opinion can be any lower, and it would take a miracle to improve it at this point.

  • We could always introduce a purge. Maybe every 5-10 years (random) the 10 wealthiest individuals must fight to the death. Win or lose they lose all their money and have to start over. Its like the Olympics. And they can use their money to equip themselves, with tech and weapons.

    Its like the Olympics

But yeah capitalism is no bueno

  • I mean isn't this more "circle jerking " about dismantling state propaganda? Interacting with those you were told are your enemy?

Besides, people should always celebrate the positives, and look towards them as something that is possible in their country too.

And as an fyi: when we were here before, the workers revolution in Russia was new. The achievements were so profound that workers in North America began demanding similar concessions from our governments. There was a real threat of overthrowing the existing power structures. And what happened? Weekends, literacy, healthcare, just generally improved living conditions. To dismiss cultural exchange as circle jerking is to ignore history and the power that comes with knowing things are better elsewhere, and that you can have that too.

  • I dont know if the west has enough military forces to maintain control of their current roster of subservient states, impose their will on the rest of the Americas, and maintain order on home soil. At some point they will become spread too thin and the whole thing will come crumbling down.

  • This is good advice. As your skill and interest grow, you'll be better able to understand what you like to photograph, what you need to be better at it, and what everything means and does. A DSLR can do a lot of photography decently without all the accessories and steep learning curve.

  • That would be interesting. I don't believe the data exists. Just need a definition of bully, a list of kids who are bullies (which would be difficult given they are children and that has ethical issues), and a follow up to see if they went to cop school, became cops, career length, etc.

The stats would be easy to do.

I imagine asking a cop would be a bad idea (might go to jail for example), but maybe their former teachers or classmates could work? I'm just yapping at this point lol

  • How long would it take for the environmental cost (including CO2 emissions, and the inefficient use of resources associated with trying to live away from others) of the new building to be overcome by the savings in energy (and thus CO2 and associated environmental degradation involved in gathering those resources) when compared to just living in an already built house?

I'd wager that just maintaining an old house is better. Of course if you ignore everything else other than energy use and diverting something from a landfill, earth ships are very cool. Maybe not $10,000 either.

Its unclear whether one person building an earth ship instead of buying and maintaining an older house would make any positive environmental change.

Instead, if you took your $10,000 and partnered with others who have similar investments, you could build a small mixed use building which includes a couple shops on the ground floor, and dwellings on the next few floors (likely you would have enough combined to get a mortgage/loan to build). Why? Living in an apartment style building is going to be more efficient than any kind of single person dwelling (and you could use some of the earth ship ideas as well), having shops near homes would also help eliminate occasional car trips by having amenities right where you live. As a bonus, if this building was built for the investors to live in, you all now have equity and relatively low cost housing that is much easier to sell than an Earth ship in the middle of nowhere, should you ever need to move.

  • Petro dollar collapses too. The west blames China and probably Russia for economic disaster and huge unemployment (even though it's the wests fault for not planning for that inevitable reality).

Civil unrest in the west, potentially war with China unless NATO collapses first.

Many bad things for the people in the west since our entire political economic system depends on cheap energy facilitating "infinite" growth (of GDP at least).

Though, hopefully leaders in the west are smarter than trying to beat a dead horse.
