personally, as someone who was absolutely in love with ow1, ow2 just isn't the same to me. I've never been able to see it as anything other than the regrettable cash grab that it was. I could never really enjoy it. rivals tho? rivals is fun. and I don't have that nagging voice in the back of my head telling me I'm just playing with the taxidermied corpse of a game I once loved.
also rivals is just kind of solid? the characters might be a little bland because corporatism and fitting an already designed mold but the game play is rather fun.
and im v much not a marvel fan, supeheros in general are just kind of meh. tbh the only superhero media I've vibed with at all is doom patrol. moon knight was p good but it doubles down on the "killer alter" stereotype and I'm so not here for that, nor do I like his gameplay in rivals.
sociopaths and children is who. have you ever been in charge of something important? something that actually matters to a number of people? if it turns into a power trip you need to grow the fuck up. it should be a humbling experience, that many people are relying on you take care of them in one way or another.
and to make people you don't like 'grovel' is just maintaining a cycle of violence.
I'm not well versed in this but I was under the assumption that anyone who worked 32 or more hours was eligible for some kind of insurance through their employer, which is why so many people are stuck at 31 hours a week.
aluminum is stable in the sense that the outer layer oxidizes rapidly and prevents the rest of the metal from reacting with anything. the reason thermite is so exothermic is because of massive amount of surface area provide by the powdered metal. a chunk of aluminum simply isn't dangerous.
I feel kind of bad for the mom. The woman was an industrial engineer and ended up losing her kids due to drug use? I feel like there's a couple steps we're missing there and I can't imagine any of them are pretty.
I agree with a lot of your points, however, outdoor cats are really bad for local wildlife, so from a purely utilitarian standpoint there's less animal suffering by keeping them inside. And they're not slaves, we don't force them into labor under penalty of death. You could argue for prisoners i suppose.
We fostered some feral kittens and I was worrying about the same stuff, restricting freedom and such, and then there was a big storm w hail and I went down to check on the kittens and they were cozy as hell.
There's more to it than just deprivation. One of ours is the baby of a feral momma but our lil girl has never seen a hard day in her life, no outside, no shelters. And seeing how much personality she has just melts my heart.
maybe it's like vent art. that's p much the vibe all my Christmas mornings had. not that I consider genAI art but like, you know what I mean. whatever let's you cope.
I was under the impression that the decentralized nature of this platform was one of the main selling points. trying to get everyone on a single instance kinda defeats that's purpose doesn't it?
