  • Only if they try more modern tactics. If they’re just being plugged in to Russian command it’s just more meat for the meat grinder. Which makes sense because Russians play book has usually been “overwhelm with warm bodies”

  • I just find it fucking hilarious that people expect software to be supported in excess of 10 years, paid or not, when that’s never really been the case over the past 40 years of software. Sure someone will probably come up with an edge case somewhere, but if you developed software, and continually released versions and updates, would you want to maintain a version you released that long ago?

  • Windows 10 will have been around for 10 years at that point. That’s a pretty good run. You know another OS that is stopping support after 10 years? Ubuntu 14 LTS, but no one complains about that. People freaked out when Windows 7 went EOL, and XP before that.

  • killing others indirectly

Huh. I wonder how you do that. If the wind knocked down a tree and the tree killed someone, would the wind indirectly have killed someone? That’s kind of like the old adage “speed doesn’t kill, it’s the sudden stop”

  • Yes you can do custom resolutions, it’s on the top right. You can chose source, scale to a specific res, or fix H/W and it’ll calculate the other.

There’s a section for Add subtitles as well. You’d have to play around with it some, I don’t know all the ins and outs.

  • Shutter Encoder is a nice gui for ffmpeg along with some other features. If you look in the logging you can even get all the flags it sends to ffmpeg and recreate it yourself including the hardware acceleration. Got it after I couldn’t remember SUPER which I used to use.

  • I think you’re missing the part where places flooded that have never flooded before. Places that never even saw a hurricane. Unless you plan on moving everything to the tops of mountains, or the middle of an empty plain, anything can flood when enough water hits it.

  • One of our spinoff companies wants to act so badly like a start up and be edgy they moved everything to a .io domain. This would be icing on the cake for how cowboy they manage everything.

  • Really? Where at? Every phone delivery I’ve gotten via UPS does a ding, dong, dash (and sometimes not even ringing the bell). No I don’t have a release signed.

I have to either redirect it to UPS store (hard to do since it’s overnighted and I don’t want to pay an additional fee), or make sure I’m monitoring my camera for motion alerts all day.
