  • What's wrong with Usenet? Sure there's not a ton of users, but that's a good thing.

  • I'm aware, but it's still supported, and that's enough for me to vomit over a garbage product.

They say they won't implement Google's DRM but words alone do not matter. If they continue to use Chromium, they'll be forced to adopt that and manifest v3.

  • I've not played enough of the other FF games since 7 to say with certainty, but FF7,12,14, and 15 were extremely explicit political dramas. That was their entire plots

  • Not to mention millions or even billions of robotic drones that monitor us all.

  • It doesn't, unfortunately. Programmers, animators, concept artists, designers, each need to unionize in order to leverage collective action grants at the bargaining table. With last week's decision by the NLRB though, it's certain to be easier than ever to get unionized. Still, the amount of coordination it gets to even petition the NLRB to have your union recognized is no small feat. Just now it'll be that much more difficult to bust a union election

  • They go hand-in-hand. You have no need for security without privacy. You cannot have privacy without security.

  • Ya, this is also what I've heard from my friends who've read it.

  • Brave fucks with crypto. Never fuck with crypto. It's also Chromium, which means they're complicit in Google's efforts to DRM the internet.

  • Can always go to one of the many instances that defederated them. Not like there's account-wide upvote points to lose or anything. (genuine suggestion)

  • murr

  • So what if in like 1000 years, a mound builds, and we decide we need to get rid of that mound and just launch a rocket or something at it to send it into space. Then the poo collects in space and forms a satellite around the moon so we can have a poo moon for the moon.

  • Your name checks out.

  • I do like the new one better. The old one was a 213 "segment"[The first 54 episodes may contain multiple segments per episode, akin to something like spongebob] adaptation of a 34 volume manga. Still, the old one uses traditional animation styles which gives its its own charm, and it's more cartoony and looney than the new one is. The new one has better pacing, better animation quality[From a "standard" modern perspective], and the OP and ED are both phenomenal.

Apparently the manga has more plot progression though, which sorta makes me curious to check that out. Being completely episodic is kinda frustrating when I do actually want to see the main character change.

That said, I like the series, I like and feel for Lum, but I'm not much a fan of the MC - you're not supposed to be tbh. At best he's an asshole, and at worst, he's unfortunate due in part to his own foolhardy assholish decisions.

  • Recently watched Urusei Yatsura (2022), and so now I'm back watching the 1981 anime series. It's funny how directly To-Love Ru took several of its premises, only to turn them into borderline hentai.

  • Yup, was just Steam DRM. There's universal tools to crack that. Less so "you can't play our game unless you spend money" and more "it's slightly inconvenient to install this way, innit? Why don't you go buy it instead, bruv?"

  • Break them up if they wanna raise their rates. Maybe we can't just switch people back to Shaw at this point, but we can divide Rogers Internet from Rogers Cable and Rogers Mobile.
