    Using the word "free" to refer to proprietary games in a GNU/Linux context is a huge indicator of a lack of awareness. I wouldn't look further.

    Actually it does. Just like IRC, the fediverse is not a democracy, it's a dictatorship. As a user, you have no rights at all. You're offered the privilege of being permitted to connect and participate. Don't like it? Nobody cares. Go start your own server/network/whatever.

    Exploitation per se doesn't necessarily threaten a group's survival. Exploitation is harm to one and benefit to another. Evolution only cares about which benefits the species more.
