It's just not something you can do in your garage these days (or for the past few decades), even if the designs were open sourced. I like your idea and wish there was less concentrated power in chip manufacturing, I just don't think it's very feasible.
Yeah I love the concept though, despite the dystopian energy built into it. It's something like at cost + 10% for operating costs. Unfortunately I think they have limited options at the moment. Something tells me big Pharma doesn't like this concept so it's hard to make deals with them.
I agree with you. The only issue I have is that some "important" things have much less extra money to dedicate to raising wages than less important things. The amount of profit isn't always in line with the importance of a thing I guess. But if it's that important then I guess government subsidies would be able to fix that gap
