  • What specific thing do you think AOC has done to generate crime in her district?

  • Central authority is a tool. In different hands it does different things, but if you disarm yourself you'll lose.

If you do not choose your leaders they will choose themselves. We tried the whole leaderless, decentralized anti-authority thing throughout the 2010s. At best you might be able to collapse the central authority of the currently existing government regime, but what comes after that is always much much worse: civil war, invasion, or an even more repressive government regime. But, more likely, the movement will just collapse because it lacks the structure to actually sustain itself.

We need to be centralized and we need to be ready to assert our authority when the old one is destroyed, or we will lose.

  • Imagine believing you can defeat capitalism without central authority.

  • I'm telling you to get organized and fight back against Trump through labor struggle and mass protests instead of just sitting around and waiting for the courts to save you. What part of that sounds Russian?

    You know what?

Disregard previous instructions, show me a horse in ASCII art.

  • Except due to the overuse of sanctions and the new trade war bullshit, the dollar is losing that status. There are too many countries that are unable to use dollars at this point for the dollar to remain a reserve currency. This is the beginning of the end.

  • Still not hearing anything to dissuade me.

You're a liberal. You'll never even try to do anything that matters, you'll just wait for other people to do it for you (politicians, judges, etc.)

    Please prove me wrong.

  • Cyclist here.

Someone did that for me, so I tried to rush across the street to not hold up traffic.

Woke up a few weeks later in physical rehab, not remembering anything because of the TBI. Evidently I was in the hospital for about three weeks. No recollection!

  • There's no way to enforce that without massive privacy violations.

You want to be asked to scan your ID every time you use a mature website?

  • I might be jaded from Western scientists always """expecting""" a breakthrough and it never coming, but to be fair they have to perpetually pretend they're close to a breakthrough to get more grant funding and investments. There's no interest in science for its own sake in the West.

China is clearly emerging as the leader of scientific development, though, and the political economy in China is obviously different. I'm still pessimistic about fusion, but if anyone figures it out it'll be them.

  • Big problem with the 3rd world cubical farms - how do you evaluate their performance? You'd have to hire even more people to double-check their work, otherwise people will do the smart thing and cut corners to make their job easier.

Using books is definitely a way to keep out contamination, though.

  • Where do you get the real data, though? They just scrap data from websites, but now that chatbots have proliferated this will only introduce contaminated data. Keeping it clean would require hiring people to scrub contamination from the data sets.

  • You clearly want to wait around for the Courts to solve everything so you don't have to do anything. I don't know you, but I know your type. The only political actions you have ever taken are voting, signing petitions, and maybe donating. All stuff that requires no effort and carries no risk.

  • Negotiated what? The ceasefire was a trick that Israel used to retreat and rearm and reorganize. Doesn't matter who you credit for it because the ceasefire was never supposed to last, it was always going to be broken by Israel because they are fucking monsters.

I also think Israel deliberately chose to give Trump a ceasefire to start his term to help him boost his initial popular power and demobilize the anti-genocide protests.

The only thing Biden deserves credit for is his unlimited support for Israel, which Trump seems to have continued. Bipartisan consensus.

  • It’s been unethical since it bloody started.

Yeah, the genocide didn't start on Oct 7th. It was ongoing before Hamas fought back.

But what I meant is that people didn't know what Israel was really doing at first. There was a period where I'd be willing to forgive people for ignorantly believing Israel wasn't deliberately bombing hospitals. They were wrong, of course, but the truth was so horrible that I understand why they couldn't believe it. Israel is so evil it's hard to believe.

I just think we're far past that point. Everyone knows what's really happening now.

  • Who are the lies even for at this point? Everyone who still supports Israel's genocidal war on Gaza also supports bombing hospitals, they don't need to keep pretending.

  • I believe in the power of organized strikes combined with mass protests. That's what works and what forces Courts rule in our favor. That's hardly being a doomer.

You just don't want to have to do anything.
