  • If the creator intended a meaning for the piece, the creator.

If the creator made something just for the fun of it and came up with a meaning afterwards, still the creator.

The audience can't change that but what they can do is to not give a fuck about what the creator thinks so they are free give whatever meaning they want. Specially when the authors are no longer around to complain or explain what were their intentions.

  • Easy, stop considering any kind of digital communication as social interaction, it might seem like it but it is not.

We call it social media, social networks, communities, groups but rarely think about the individuals within them, it's I saw on Facebook or according to Reddit. We tend to think about the entire platform as a single entity, we barely notice the names of the users.

Messaging apps. How often do we ask to someone how's going? And to how many people? We might spend the whole day in the group chat of our actual friends and still not know if they are fine or not.

  • I considered Jellyfin many times and never looked too much into it, it is one of those thing I want to try. At the moment I'm comfortable enough with a plain old file browser and a samba share.

What I tried many times unsuccessfully is to broadcast the same thing to all devices in the local network.

My ultimate goal (or ultimate wish, I'm having troubles translating) would be to broadcast video in my network imitating regular TV. With a preprogrammed schedule of shows and movies, even better if at certain times it could pick something at random from a playlist or a folder. Yesterday I read that OBS might be able to do something like that.

  • I use my old phones that still work as media players, I uninstall almost everything and basically only use VLC on them to watch stuff on my NAS. They're like tiny TV's scattered around the house.

Now I just only need to learn how to broadcast locally from the PC so they can play the same thing at the same time. I know VLC can do it because I've seen dozens of tutorials but they all must be missing something because it never worked for me.

  • You're missing the point, the objective of that is not to collect more tax, objective is to desincentivise greed by making it kinda pointless beyond certain level.

Also once most of the basic stuff is free I wonder how many people will settle for less pay and less hours. So more jobs would be available.

  • Yes and no, that progressive tax system needs a hard limit that says that you can't earn more than that. I would want the people to know that they won't be able to earn more than that hard limit and if they chose to keep working and generate more "riches" beyond that they're doing it exclusively for the benefit of others.

  • If basic income is in the shape of money I don't agree. Instead I would make all the basic stuff freely available and with time cover more stuff beyond the basic needs.

I feel that if I give money to people someone will find a way to scam them out of that money.

I guess that what I'm trying to say is that I would try to make people get used to not need money.

  • Depending on the language. In English I like overwhelming or acknowledge, in Catalan I like xiuxiuejar it means to whisper, in Spanish I love almajaneque, it comes from Arabic and it means trebuchet.
