  • its what we have at the moment.

social organization and resistance in america is almost never around a simple, single fulcrum - look at the multipronged approach of the right for the past 40 uears.

I have been watching last night and all day today and there is just enough progressivism on display from a diverse group of dems to open cracks and widen fissures for more expansive ideas.

every opening is an opportunity to attack the problem (both party and public) from both the inside and the outside. and while the dems try to get some momentum, keep connecting locally with likeminded people willing to stir shit up - whatever that may mean to you.

    edit: words

  • from a state with two republican senators, thank you!

had to go to my local post office today and had a great convo with the person behind the desk - they were watching booker on their lunchbreak and we had an awesome moment of connection over this. I reminded them that there was still so much love out here just waiting to be organized.

  • You mean Rubio being confirmed unanimously

useless hope that he would be somewhat sane. an admitted massive fail.

Courts which the fascists ignore, like fascists tend to do.

righteous indignation over ignored court orders can burn white hot in the public - its part of a legitimate process.

Now if you would just realize that the deadwood centrists (actually center right to right wing) are actually almost all of them

well, yes. there is enough upheaval happening in this moment to force something. something will shift. what comes next (and how it comes) will almost certainly be different than what we have seen previously.

  • both. as he said its "good trouble". unlikely to change course, but really useful to show other dems that a backbone is useful and people will support you.

also good info being passed out to anyone that will listen.

  • trump really has no ideology beyond self-aggrandizement, gross displays of power and pursuing the path of least resistance (appealing to the most stupid). thats it. that the whole ballgame.

this left/right narrative fails to accurately describe this putrid creature.

  • cannot comment on this particular poster, but there are definitely others posting reasonably neutral articles whos posts get downvoted because of their comments and stated views; views are admittedly stupid (you know who you are, DJM), but articles that are generally ok.

I can only imagine its the collective lemmy immune system surrounding the invasive poster (some of them are prolific) considering that small changes to their posted content could subtly sway the conversation. the downvotes on reasonably neutral posts is concerning but understandable.

  • Current soy volumes being shipped do not yet reflect the effects of the new trade war, the analysts said. They believe an escalation will direct more Chinese demand to Brazil over time, as was the case in 2018.

the methods and tools you use depend on your threat model, but now is always a good time to begin getting more comfortable and improving your digital hygiene. as parent points out, while privacy (like security) really cant come in a box, tails is a great start.

  • “Our message to Denmark is very simple: [lots of stupid ramblings]...and you have underinvested in the security architecture of this incredible, beautiful landmass filled with incredible people. That has to change.”

because thats what it is to trump inc. - a landmass. not a country. a landmass.
