ever allowed your printer to update over the internet? chances are that same serial number attached to the printer, which is now encoded into your document, is now attached to an IP that can be meaningfully time/date attached to your e.g. cable modem MAC address which is attached to the location of the printer - at your house/work/etc... and thats just one publically known mechanism. if your printer is attached to a network with internet access, are you sure its never pinged the manufacturer? are you suresure?
never underestimate the trail of digital forensics you leave behind when there is a sufficiently motivated adversary. seriously evaluate your risks and harm exposure and plan accordingly. just sayin'

anything that creates emotional space enough for people to gather, contemplate and talk is a good thing. we need people willing to see and say that "none of this is ok".
if they end up marching in the streets, great! but I will be happy with them simply taking to their prayer group and repeating that "none of this is ok".
edit: humanity, apathy, stupidity and hate are powerful things, but when apathy falls away I believe humanity can bend the majority toward our better proclivities, even through the stupidity and hate.
there is a shift happening. things are bleak af for a while then, suddently all at once, something breaks. a us senator getting off his ass and getting proof of life on his constituent gives me, and I think many others, fire to keep on. these fascist fuckers are not inevitable.
fixing this absolute clusterfuck is going to take time and warm bodies on the streets and lawyers in courts in front of judges that uphold the constitution and members of Congress that tell the truth and a million acts of defiance across the country. its been happening and its getting bigger.

I have weird grammatical issues with they/them - I am old, its oddly strange (despite some historical precedent)to me and I dont like being told what words I use to describe the world around me.
so, I ask for a name. whatever name you give me, I use. tell me your name is "they". cool fucking beans, its the name I use. I find a way to be respectful of another human being and still make it make sense to me. I make it fit into my small goddamn ancient cranium and when I, and other ancients like me are dead and gone, I hope those who come after have fewer "issues" with it.
