  • I mean the Bible in general is written in old language and meaning. Could it mean to support him and shoulder him as he grows older and can’t walk? Taking anything literally from the Bible tends to look strange as society has evolved over thousands of years since then

  • I’ll go against the grain here not because I disagree, but for sake of discussion. I think it’s mostly innate. Why? Well my father is a clinically diagnosed sociopath currently running from country to country after he’s done something reprehensible. Growing up with that man, there is no fucking way you can teach or cultivate kindness in him.

And no sociopathy is not something that should be romanticized like it has in podcasts, he has destroyed and harmed so many people it’s unbelievable that people like him can stand to look in a mirror. Anyways mostly innate lol

  • It’s a lot of money don’t get me wrong but I kind of expected more. Some twitch streamers (mainly softcore porn streamers) get an absolute fuckload from some donors. Talking 50k+ from one person, they’re usually as a joke called oil princes

  • Carey likely pocketed about $1.55 million in 2021 from the master recording revenue, according to Billboard

Thought this was interesting. It’s not nearly as much as I expected but if I made that passively I wouldn’t do anything ever again other than living life

  • This isn’t really that hot of a take. Steam does keep winning and it’s because of convenience for consumers. Valve also is probably the best of those companies when it comes to not violating rights. I really hope when Gaben passes the torch for valve ownership that it’s someone with his vision and priorities

  • Yeah idk, I’ve tended to see the exact opposite. I rarely downvote and I think most people I interact with on here do the same.

What kind of communities do you frequent? For me it’s a pretty curated c/home with most chill communities and then I’ll browse c/all and even on there most people seem chill.

So long winded but to answer your question I think most people are nice, the elitist comments might not get drowned out as much since there’s less people.

Edit: wanted to add that the people here on lemmy seem to be older and techy and that demographic tends to be more clear and blunt. However, that might be something that comes off hostile but really isn’t.

  • I will also be that guy and say mine have already reached carbon neutral. I’ve had them for 4 years now and probably close to 1000 trips and have saved thousands if not more plastic bags in that time already. They have no rips or tears and I expect them to last another 10 to 15 years. I don’t think reusable plastic would get that sort of shelf life unless you rarely use them.
