  • Once again, we have lawmakers just making spurious if not outright false statements with no repercussions. When your words decide people's reality, you should be afraid of what you say. And I don't see that fear in legislators.

They just say whatever the fuck incorrect bullshit they wish, and walk it back at their leisure when the effect is already resolved in throughout news media. The world's gotten their soundclip, the base started foaming when they heard their whistles, and then the politican quietly amends "oh, I obviously didn't mean that." If more politicans shut the fuck up because they were scared of the repercussions of walking their statements back, then maybe there'd be more reporting on what they've done then the inflammatorily idiotic shit they spew every other day.

  • Edit: for the life of me, I can't figure out how I'd relocate the video, so take this with as much salt aa you deem necessary

I'm sorry I can't recall but there was a pretty in-depth Youtube video I watched that went into Fetterman's career. Posited he's always just wanted the democratic clout but he's a nepo-baby with conservative leanings deep-down.

  • Ah, I didn't put myself in the mindset of a rapist who follows mandates set by a building's sign.

We should probably put up more signs that strictly disallow rape in places, to catch out whatever subset of rapists we can.

  • Well, yeah, she's supposed to be an absolute smokeshow so people know he's won (and are jealous of him) for marrying her. But she shouldn't "show" anything because that's for him only.

Be a sex icon, but chastely.

  • I also don't think it has to be true. That's why I stopped thinking it and thought the other thing.

I'm gonna stop here, m8. You're feeling some type of way, you've taken your own reading of what I wrote, and I'm not interested.

  • For doing such a close reading on the OP, you really skimped on my comment. Y'know, where I said "on first read" before amending with "but now", meaning I had one assumption but it shifted.

  • It might take time to be mainstream but this dude was apparently banging everything that moved. He wasn't mainstream, he was in the niche. I guess it does depend on when he was hoe-ing around. Assuming that OP is coming out to his father now(ish, don't know the exact year) means his dad had to be going gangbusters in the 80s to 90s, after bisexuality as a term was rolling around.

  • I didn't downvote but I think the "something more is going on with him" has a nefarious tone and seems unwarranted for something as innocuous as not wanting to share a bed with a new partner inside her parents' home.

  • At first read, I thought the dad was confessing to cheating on OP's mum with dudes but now my question is...then what did the dad think it was?

"Bisexual" isn't really a new term. And for someone who has been fucking around, you think they would've run into the term sooner.

  • Your callout to the USSR belies the lack of point you professed to, as well as your astounding lack of imagination. The US Post Office is not a business and yet yearly goes about the process of organizing national mail delivery. There are plenty of organizations that operate in the abscence of a profit motive.

Hell, people could do all those things -- actuarial work, operations planning, etc -- for simple altruism. I'm a misanthrope and even I remember such things exist.
