People like you show up and act like you have no ideology, that you're just a fully blank slate. You are the guest, you are bringing your ideology here. We've been around for years. We are just used to being in a minority ideology and having discourse about it, you have never seen ideology in the way that a fish has never seen water.

I have never once met a person who talks like this who has also made a good faith effort to under Marxist thought. Why are you so confident? We've been around for hundreds of years, we have a lively and robust intellectual landscape, and calling us red fash without even making an attempt to hear us out hurts you more than it hurts us.

All federal elections are illegitimate. Voter suppression, the electoral college, America's failure to make Election Day a paid day off, extremely frail voting infrastructure, legalized and (barely) regulated corruption (lobbying) and more all worked together to get Trump one single win, but the second time around, even despite all of these things working as advantages to republicans, Trump still lost to a different geriatric rapist imperialist because on top of having wildly lowered popular appeal, he also proved to be harmful to America's status quo.

You know, there's a difference between modern Russia and soviet Russia, soviet Russia posed an actual ideological threat to America whereas modern Russia is just kinda irritating and is threatening to hurt our economic dominance. There's a reason that Russia is a partisan squabble now and back then it was pitched as a nonpartisan fight of good versus evil.

Alright, it's way closer to China then it is to the USA, why are there US fighter jets and battleships there at all? Pretty sure the half way point is somewhere past the Philippines.

The territory is contested. Meaning, China claims that this is their territory and they have a right to be there and the US claims it isn't their territory and they don't have a right to be there. The difference is, this is basically within eyesight from mainland China while US vessels that perform these same aggressive maneuvers are one third of a globe away from their home country.

And even if you wanna both-sides this, the conflict is not even close to symmetric. The Taiwan Strait is nearly 6500 miles from the mainland US and less than 70 from mainland China. China does not conduct fly-bys and naval passes between Florida and Cuba.

The US naval institute? that's not really subtle

but really now, why are we calling this a "provocative pass", China literally borders one side of the strait. The US makes passes there all the time and I don't see the US Naval Institute calling it "provocative".
