  • I don't imagine that every decision is Putin's, and it's just as much Biden's proxy war as Putin's except that Putin has been head of government for the entire duration of the build-up whereas the build-up started 4 US heads of government ago. I'm just using the terminology most frequently used in the discourse.

Also I will psychologize any world leader I please, any leader of a bourgeoisie state is a horrible wretched ghoul

  • this thread is wild

    can we remember, everyone:

    1. discussion on who is winning has no bearing on discussion of who is in the right, and vice versa
    2. Russia, Ukraine, and NATO can all be evil and wrong for separate and true reasons
    3. criticizing NATO does not amount to supporting Putin
    4. criticizing Putin does not amount to supporting NATO
  • Putin can hang from a barbed wire noose and also this is a US proxy war

  • it's fine I guess

don't do it to people who don't consent to it

  • What of all the countries that have been shelled, bombed, and invaded by the US, where inflows of weapons and sometimes troops have lead to more lost limbs, destroyed homes, and lost lives than Ukraine has seen? What of Yemen, Laos, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, Iraq, Korea, Iran, countless others? The biggest difference between all of these nations is 1) their interests do not align with ours like Ukraine's does, 2) the US were the ones mutilating and razing, and 3) because of those two factors the press coverage was entirely absent for any of those crimes against humanity

I guarantee that the US has lead to far, far more deaths than the few tens of thousands that Ukraine has seen at the hands of the Russians, even just in the middle east Surely the whataboutism is bringing up a much, much smaller death toll in the face of an absolutely massive one, right?

  • That was my intention with plugging The Will to Change, it's definitely not a "here's why men suck" piece, it's a feminist analysis on all of the unique harms that men are subjected to under patriarchy, how those manifest, and how to heal from them. Any analysis of the suffering of men under patriarchy that lands on individual responsibility as a cause for psychological suffering is a bad one.

  • I will say it every time it's even slightly relevant until I die, The Will to Change by Bell Hooks should be mandatory reading for men. Men suffer unique mental health crises at the hands of patriarchy and need specialized care just as much as anyone else.

To address your specific question though, I think possibly, but not much, because the men who need help and care most are the ones most resistant to reaching out and the ones most insistent on rugged independence and getting up, dusting themselves off, and jumping back in the fight without treating their wounds.

  • I think you nailed it, it's flashy virtue signaling/techno-mysticism to make people feel like they're secure while using a closed source app with incomplete E2E and backdoors

  • you really hate to see it when the Ukraine supporters actually end up being Nazis 😔

  • Putin can face death by potato peeler and I'd be perfectly content, but I'm not really sure you quite get this war, or war in general, if this is the most fired up you've ever gotten about troops fighting a war. This really isn't that far from typical, many other wars even in the past 20 years have seen far more heinous human rights abuses.

  • Would you say that many of the US armed forces deployed around the world warrant that title as well? Not in a whataboutism kind of way, just keeping you honest with upholding your standards everywhere they are relevant

  • wanna talk about it?

I will say, for one, this is being sarcastic, and for two, when anyone talks about the "libs" from an instance like mine, we are punching right - we sit to the left of liberals

  • genuinely trying to understand you here, when you say "orcs", are you saying they are genetically inferior or just that they are culturally inferoir, but to such a degree that you think calling them a different species is necessary?

  • "In recent years, the number of university students has continued to expand," Fu said. "The main responsibility of current students is studying. Society has different views on whether students looking for jobs before graduation should be included in labour force surveys and statistics."

This issue, as well as the definition of the age range currently set at 16-24, "needs further research," Fu said.

This is not only completely and utterly reasonable and rational, but this is also a really pleasing amount of transparency in explaining their decision making process

  • rent free

  • two posts and five minutes of reading this dipshit's comments and I can tell OP thinks about having sex with penises more than I, a literal bisexual, do

  • yo this loser's other comments are him squealing about how piracy is theft 😂

  • OP is 100% chance a chaser who just got rejected one time too many by yet another transfem who's out of his league and he snapped and decided to go on an absolute loser posting rampage

  • I agree with you one hundred percent on the balance between corporate and individual responsibility (and that balance falling basically all the way on the corporate side), but I also think it helps to know just how much worse meat eating consumers are for the planet than vegan consumers so we know how thoroughly to blame the dairy and meat lobby, the advertising industry, the fast food industry, and anyone else who puts their thumb on the scale of what could be healthy consumption habits otherwise. Your observations on the methodology sound pretty reasonable too
