I'm not sure where you're from but generally it'll probably become better. Pretty much every first world country has free or at least very easily affordable universities, and given how many countries are currently rising, about to become part of the "first world" in the next decades if you want to put it like that (assuming the upwards trend continues), free unis is something that I expect to also become much more widely available.
I thought so too. Used a MacBook Pro for half a year. Never again.
As soon as you want to do more than opening preinstalled apps / installing apps from their store, it gets overly complicated. Customisability also is extremely limited.
I recently was in the same situation, so I saved everything to my cloud and just installed the Linux distro of my choice (opensuse tumbleweed), completely replacing windows, knowing I could reinstall windows later if really needed. Turned out I didn't need it and am glad I don't have to bother with deleting it now.
I'm extremely impressed with how far Linux has come
I wouldn't even want to be in an Austrian luxury prison. There's a reason why people have went as far as dying while fighting for their freedom, it's one of our most precious possessions.
Why wait?
