  • Seriously. I got absolutely massive return for my money on Reddit sync. As a long time user, I'm absolutely thrilled to pay $30 for such a great experience. Nothing else I've paid for even comes close. This is cheap AF! I'm not a big fan of subscriptions but I'd consider getting the Sync subscription just to keep supporting ljdawson.

  • I think the biggest problem with bootstrapping niche communities is that people interested in those topics have to search for and find the communities. There are a few resources for finding new communities such as https://lemmyverse.net/communities and the Reddit migration community, but it takes some effort.

  • Interesting question. I'm a software developer, but I just wanted to point out that reddit also started out very heavily skewed toward tech workers. The non tech people came quite a bit later for the most part. Even today from what I can tell, software developers are overrepresented on Reddit.

  • Jeez this is so true. I struggle daily to stay on top of the code and docs I have to review, answer people who are pinging me in slack, and being in meetings... I want to actually get some shit done!

  • Not about any specific device, but why a foldable? Is it really better? I just assumed all foldables would die out because it seems like such a gimmick. I'm surprised to hear they're still a thing
