OK, then don't... I'm talking more about the society we live in, in general, where people would preface "60 hours/week" with the word "only." Reading shit like that makes me super sad.
“There will actually be some people in early New England who are censured by the church because they have deprived their married partner of sex for three months or more and this is seen as bad.”
Bet I can guess the gender of the people who were censured...
Trump dies, and then the true religion of Trump begins much in the same way as Jesus when he was crucified, and his supporters believed that he will rise from the grave, bringing about a new apocalypse and judgment for the non-believers.
This is why Lovecraft's writing was so special, it only really works in written form and allows your brain to do the heavy lifting (though unfortunate that his terror of the unknown came from his deep racism. Don't look up the name of his dog cat 😬).
If people are impressed by the reply in the OP, they should try reading The Shadow over Innsmouth, or At the Mountains of Madness.
No offense to OP, but it makes that look like a child wrote it.
I didn't say anyone was forcing you to do it, I just find it disgusting that we've normalized hours like that to the point where it's talked about like it's on the low side. "Only 60/week"
I'm glad you can work for yourself, but the overwhelming majority of people who work 60hrs+ are not doing it by choice, and it consumes their waking life.
Isn't it cool how you can just decide which parts are real and which ones aren't?
Edit: Also, it's kind of hard to call Adam and Eve "allegory" or whatever, when there's massive sections of the Old Testament dedicated to outlining their fucking bloodline...
Believe it or not, there's actual science and statistics that go into what is considered a "100 year storm" or "1000 year storm", and yes they will be adjusted. That's how it's meant to work.
I still don't follow the logic... Wouldn't the bigger vehicle be more able to bully the other?
