  • She clearly got on the squad while presenting male. Male cheerleaders exist? "When she came out" was when the other girls on the squad made the pact.

  • This doesn't work for many conditions which can be worsened by graduated exercise. ME/CFS being one of them.

  • Huh, that's cool. All the ones at places I worked just had the legs with adjustable feetsies. They sucked to move.

  • No, I know that already, I'm talking about in the real world and how the game gets it wrong, as well as the dishwasher.

  • Those style of fryers aren't usually on wheels as they have a gas connection...

  • If you believe that his family was punished, then do you believe that the death penalty as used by the justice system is also a punishment on those people's families? Because kin punishment is generally considered a human rights violation, and is illegal in the US as far as I'm aware.

  • We have this in Australia too. In built-up areas (think a town or city) the default limit is 50km/h, and outside of those it's 100km/h. You'll often have a speed limit of 80km/h as you head out of a small town on a country highway, and then an "End 80" sign to indicate you can drive the default 100km/h.

  • Santa Clarita moment...

  • This is reminding me strongly about how the Black Panther Party was vilified and outlawed. California didn't ban open carry for any other reason than to stop black people from being able too.

  • ...I meant the keep watching thing. I get that a lot if I skip to the next episode right at the outro of a show.

  • Nah, I think that's an issue with the jellyfin server. It happens to me too, using Swiftfin on AppleTV.

  • Let me ask you, should the allies have stood by and done nothing while Hitler and the Nazi party exterminated people? Would you have shed a tear if Hitler were murdered by the allies? Do we not judge the german people of the era for not standing up to fight against tyranny? Was that a "Lord of the flies situation"?

Just remember, the Nazi party started their genocide, by murdering the sick, and the disabled.

  • Guillotines have been used effectively to enact change within deeply corrupt societies. It's not about "someone (we) don't like". It's about mass murder, and sending a message that people's lives aren't expendable so that executive bonuses and stock buybacks can be increased. It's about the fact that working within the system as it stands currently has not worked. Just look at companies like Anthem, trying to put time limits on anaesthesia coverage. Why should we all sit idly by while the envelope keeps getting pushed further and further? Death is the only language these people understand.

  • Holy moly, are you really this much of a bootlicker that you buy "bogus claims" as an excuse for insurance denying people life-saving treatment?

You're right, rate is just one data point. One I think you purposefully ignored now.

  • The fact that the system is transparent, that every one is denied in a way that is public knowledge, makes the system much easier to change. It's not directly comparable to the opaque way that US insurance companies deny claims, and the way you said "often have ways" implies the same level of subterfuge.

I feel like you also missed the other commenter's point entirely. No one makes comparisons on raw numbers, that would be silly. But the rate at which UHC denies claims is likely greater.

  • I think you're getting this kind of backwards. Individual claims aren't denied under universal healthcare. It's not opaque like a private insurer. Specific procedures are the thing not covered, and that becomes part of a national legislative/policy discussion.
