  • People shitting on the game are so much more annoying than people praising it. Obviously it's not going to kill pokemon, no shit. It's still a fun game. The progression is solid, and its fun collecting cute creatures. The whole reason it blew up is because it was surprising that what was thought to be a meme game released with the amount of quality and depth it has.

  • Honestly, I disagree with Heroic not being good enough, I think it's the only other launcher on Linux that is. It's very polished and everything has worked out of the box for me. The problem is simply that it's unofficial, no company would ship it on a gaming device.

  • Incredibly excited to try it. I love the early support for Nix, I plan to run it as soon as a NixOS module becomes available!

Huge props to the design team here, the aesthetic looks amazing on all of the apps I've tried. They all feel consistent and look great.

  • Firefox can always compete, because if it ever stopped existing Google would have an antitrust case on their hands. For the same reason, Google cannot violate web standards, like what has happened in previous browser wars.

I don't agree that Firefox is unable to render a portion of the web, I've been using it for years and have never once run into a website that had a problem with my browser. I thought once that studentaid.gov did, but that turned out to be a problem with extensions. I've seen more websites that have issues with me using Linux than with Firefox.

  • You don't get to decide what too much JS in the project is unless you actually work on and have in depth knowledge of the project. I dont like JS, but it has its uses.

Many people are conflating modern electron bloatware with 'JS bad', but things are not that simple.
