Barrier hasn't been updated in two years, so I wouldn't expect that to happen. Input-leap is a fork that is maintained and updated, and has had wayland support added.

That isn't built on Matrix afaik, it's specific to the Element client.

Rude to assume they're trolling because of a simple mistake, don't be an ass. Just because you don't like the product doesn't make it DOA, people can have different opinions.

He's still working on his messengers. It's been delayed because of new EU regulations surrounding messaging clients.

It's extremely noob friendly. You really don't need any prior knowledge to start using this.

This is a desktop application, not something you need to host.

All of these tools have options or packages available in nixpkgs, so they'll work easily

1. NixOS can run binaries well using nix-ld or nix-alien, those will work for the large majority of software. If you run into any trouble, you could always use distrobox as well. Some of this software will also likely be packaged in nixpkgs or other repos.
2. You should be able to build binaries the same way you can on other distros
3. GPU pass through works the same on NixOS as other distros, but parts of it will need to be configured in your systems configuration, which may be a bit complex, especially if you're new to the Nix language. Here's a good article on setting it up.

you don't need it if proton is working fine for the games you play. GE's builds have patches for games that are not yet/will not be upstreamed to proton.

Flamethrower buff made it really good against them. Railgun will still be really good, especially if you blow off the leg armor and shotgun it. Antitank is really good too, one hit and a few shots will kill.

I've used most major firefox forks, floorp is easily my favorite. the extra customization options they've added are very nice to have, and the sidebars are very useful.

My bad, I was referring to the new Linux implementation which is using Vulkan, which was not clear. The MacOS implementation only supports Metal, as MacOS does not support Vulkan natively. I assume the Vulkan implementation will also be what is used for the Windows build.

It's not fundamentally incompatible, they just haven't written the code to make it compatible yet. GPU frameworks need a lot of OS specific code, so it will take some time for them to make it run perfectly on Linux.

vulkan is a graphics api, not a framework. their framework is using vulkan.

Those are some neat features. I hadn't heard of them when I was using Vim. Parsing the compiler output to go straight to the error is very cool. I definitely think plugin support will bring a lot of people to Helix. I don't currently have any features I'm waiting on, but I'm sure I'll find some plugins to make it even better once they're available.
