  • Edit: No it didn't

Cleaning out the USB port by pouring a drop of alcohol in it(disassembled) seems to have solved it. I assume a piece of dirt or grime shorted it, somehow... Thanks for the ideas!

  • Last christmas, I was splitting wood with a wedge and a sledgehammer, and the sledgehammer broke. It didn't hurt anyone, but my dumbass decided to pick up the sledgehammer head and start smashing away. My pinky slipped, and got crushed. I didn't break any bones, surprisingly, and made a full recovery.

  • Agreed, asus laptops aren't optimal for linux. My touchpad works excellent and feels great to use 9/10 times, but the 1/10th time it is slower, harder to move, and randomly stops moving. Not sure if this is just dirt on the touchpad but cleaning it and my hands seems to help a bit.

  • I want to give you some advice: Use Jellyfin, not plex. It has far deviated to a "hub" for other streaming services and unless you want to have built-in streaming platforms on your home media server, or have plex's own "live tv" service shoved up your rear, I would steer clear.

Jellyfin is pretty lightweight if you're just streaming 1-2 connections at a time, I ran it on a raspberry pi 4 for a while and it was near flawless, only recently have I made a proper VM setup for it.
