  • Are you questioning the factuality of The Independent as a news source or did you fail to read the article? The claims of safety regulation lapses and Chinese obstruction are coming from the Biden administration directly. Are you indicating that they are fraudulent?

  • Conspiracy theory nonsense?

    How is this nonsense?

According to a review by the HHS, the facility in China’s Wuhan, where Covid is said to have first emerged, has violated biosafety protocols and is not complying with US regulations.

    They disregarded bio safety regulations.

The lab, located in the city where the Covid pandemic is believed to have begun, has faced intense scrutiny due to its reported security lapses and over research that has been carried out on bat coronaviruses.

    Specifically COVID research.

Intelligence officials of the Joe Biden administration have been pushed by lawmakers to release more material about the origins of Covid. But they have repeatedly argued that China’s official obstruction of independent reviews has perhaps made it impossible to determine how the pandemic began.

China is conspiring in obstruction per the top leaders of the land.

  • I hope it succeeds though. It is exciting to be at the start of humanity becoming a spacefaring race. The idea that we might be able to see the Earth from space in our lifetime is amazing. I think people that venture into the unknown are inspiring. It’s great that we are pushing the boundaries of what humans can achieve. Sure, there are problems on Earth, but solving space problems makes it seem like figuring out our differences should be trivial given what we can achieve. Damn this is some good weed.

  • Marinara is the most basic of Italian sauces. It is the red sauce on pizza and the default for most pastas at standard Italian restaurants in the US. I’d be surprised if you couldn’t find it in Italy since it isn’t like how Americans take a food like tacos and completely alter the original recipe. Sure, they make all varieties of jarred marinara in the grocery store where some are much better quality than others, but the basis is pretty much tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, basil and something to add sweetness like letting a carrot stew in it, adding sugar, or a squeeze of ketchup per my shortcut. Most recipes call for whole canned San Marzano tomatoes that are crushed while you simmer the sauce. This allows for a nice chunky consistency. The olive oil is always supposed to be the best you can find, so extra virgin olive oil works since you aren’t really cooking it at sauté-level heat.

  • Just standard Heinz works fine. Only a squirt or two seems to round off the flavors, giving just a hint of sweetness. Heinz ketchup is intentionally well balanced through countless trials with consumers. The exact proportions are super proprietary. People shouldn’t use any other brand because no one has invested nearly as much in getting the formulation correct. I don’t understand what you mean by not knowing what Marinara sauce is.

  • I wanted to use my DAC with different desktop versions of music services to get full lossless at the highest bitrates. I forget if it was Tidal, Amazon Music, or both that were having issues with Linux. Additionally, was looking through different video editing software and CAD tools where many were only on Windows.

  • Interesting. I ran Mint for a while, but found that a lot of software that I wanted to use was in Windows, so switched back and have been using the virtualized Ubuntu with VSCode pointed to the file system. I haven’t had any issues with productivity and wouldn’t mind if MS went in a Linux Kernel direction like Mac did.

  • Ketchup and MSG are the secret ingredients in my marinara sauce. I go as far as to use proper other ingredients likes San Marzano tomatoes, fresh basil, and garlic, but I am fairly certain that my special additions to the recipe improve it. I’ve been told never to utter this to an Italian mother.

  • The government loan was predatory. Was too young to understand the implications of the decision and had no baseline data to judge other than some examples that they provided as to what the salary expectations of someone coming out of the school would be and how long it would take to pay off the loan based upon that. Lo and behold, the government examples were totally unreasonable. The whole thing was a scam by the government in cahoots with higher institutions. Universities are extremely expensive because they know the government will fund the loans. I would have rather the government said no to me than offering a loan that was the equivalent of taking on 100k in credit card debt. People that say that the government protects you by taking their loans are full of it. The government makes sure their loans supersede bankruptcy. You are right that everyone’s circumstances are different. I do feel that certain people are less deserving in the same way you feel that I am. The only thing that would be fair is to treat everyone equally. Fiscal liberals want equity over equality and that’s kind of annoying because it creates classes of people. If we go that route, expect there to be criticism that some classes are not as worthy. I don’t agree with that, but if you are not going to treat everyone equally, then let’s have fun deciding who is worthy enough of my tax money. In my opinion people who pop out babies with no remorse shouldn’t get handouts.

  • That isn’t really a winning move either honestly. At least I dropped my interest rate 5%. The problem is that any scenario trying to provide relief is heavy-handed doesn’t consider all scenarios. Just because I am in a better place now doesn’t negate the damage that was done not being able to pay much of my principal for many years due to the predatory 8% interest rate. They do need to make it up to people who realized that turning back on the loans and only helping some people was going to screw them over. I found some relief, but it was after being swindled by my government for almost 10 years and still almost having the full amount of my loan left to pay off. They sell you on the idea that higher education is will land you a job that can pay the loans off in no time, but that really wasn’t the case. I’ve finally gotten to a good salary, but had to endure unnecessary financial constraints. Definitely not having kids. Can’t afford that for sure. If we are going to provide welfare better not pick and choose poorly. I’d argue that providing me with more free cash flow is better than someone with a low income job. We shouldn’t subsidize lack of motivation or irresponsible procreation by people that can’t afford it. The idea that someone without a job can have kids and get welfare for it and I can’t get that same benefit due to my salary so can’t have kids is sickening.

  • It’s the truth. I went from a nearly 8% interest government loan that was presented to me as a normal thing to do and something that I would be able to afford with a good job to a 3% private loan. I should have done it years earlier, but didn’t really know any better until the government took much more money than the loan was worth. The system is fucked.

  • Not a fair comparison at all. Polio can’t resurrect the dead and fix its past mistakes. The government can. I paid the predatory rate for years before getting smart about it. It kept me from generating wealth and drove me deeper into debt due to the lack of free cash flow. The government made its money back on my loan and was just profiting off of me for years to come. Not a fair system. When they said the loans would turn on again the first time, I pulled the trigger on a lower interest private loan. The damage was already done though. They owe me a check if everyone else gets money wiped away.
