  • Techcrunch has basically been an ad network for companies who want to promote themselves. Other open source projects probably don't have a budget to pay for an a̶r̶t̶i̶c̶l̶e̶ ad spot.

  • Competition is going to make things cheaper and the global markets has significant effect in world politics. Why do you think US defends Taiwan so much? because of the kindness in their hearts? Get real.

This has been proven time and again throughout history. It's probably a bit strange because of your prejudice.

The rest of us can't wait for competition to make it affordable at large and not being bound by monopolies. Everyone gets to choose where to buy the chips from. If that doesn't alter world politics you're too out of touch from reality.

Everyone wins except people like you. I guess.

    • Joey overlays AI voice and emojis on Fred's video on Tiktok
    • Dave posts it on Xitter with his own commentary
    • Rick takes a video of a video with the entire tweet superimposed Ends up on reddit
    • DorkyDodo removed and moans about the petty annoyances but not the topic itself
    • Everyone upvotes DorkyDodo

  • without creating intense hot spots that literally warp and destroy your pans

We've been using off-the-shelves induction stoves for about 10 years and never had this problem. I would definitely love to see a longer duration of comparison of the heatspots in traditional (non-induction) and induction cookware though.

You always get intense heat where the bottom of the pan makes contact and then the sides are hundreds of degrees cooler, which means your French omelettes stick to the sides of the pan and get ruined

Do you not have nonstick cookware (cast iron, carbon steel, etc)?

  • but that's like giving a broken iPad to a monkey. And don't feel bad if you're Chinese, it would be the same if any other group of people tried to make it.

And this is why they've been beating every hurdle the west has put up against them. Keep equating people to monkeys and wait for them to shit you on the face. Fuck the CCP, but there are probably more people than US, Germany and the Netherlands combined working specifically in chip manufacturing in China.

If you only ever think there's just one solution to a problem and everyone else are monkeys scratching their ass. You give them more reasons to beat the odds.

    Keep it up though.

Tech has gotten cheaper since China got into the race and the whining on the other side has only made it more enjoyable.

  • The article is exaggerating the guy's setup way too much. Opsec doesn't end at the application level... The OS (the most popular being in bed with US), ISP, tor nodes, Honeypot VPNs, so on and so on could leave a trail.

Using telegram public groups and obfuscating a calculator as a password protection layer is hillbilly level of security.

And i'm glad these fuckos don't have the knowledge to go beyond App developers marketing.

  • It never ceases to amaze me how iPhone users think a bump in a version years down the road, keeps them secure while the browser in iOS needs whole god damn system update to upgrade.

You wait for that patch for a Safari vulnerability for whenever Apple feels like it but Android devs can push patch and deploy within days or hours. And also sideload it, if a really important fix would take a long time through regular channels. And also there's more than 1 browser engine on Android, so all users aren't vulnerable to the same exploit at the same time.

But hey, keep on swallowing that Apple marketing wholesale though.

  • their smell would cover hers

it's funny how in later seasons, zombies lost all sense of smell, (probably because of ageing? but new zombies were the same I think)

The smell didn't matter at all, if you just wore a dried up zombie skin head mask. Then you could be part of the herd. They could hide right next to a zombie herd passing through in the ditch. You could get really close to a zombie from behind.

Zombies basically just turned into extras in that series. Poor fellas got nerfed hard.

  • my $100 Walmart tablet lasts all week with light usage, I doubt this could compare

probably not in a first release, but Android is convulted piece of shit compared to linux desktop environments. Not to mention Google's and/or OEMs built-in system apps running 24/7 guzzling all your data in the background.

In time, I guess it would beat out in performance and efficiency but lose in the availability of applications, same as desktop linux.

  • So they can make a very convincing case for a backdoor, in exchange for his release. And maybe some compensation for continued cooperation. Both come out winning and they get to claim nothing happened.

Government cyber security dealings as usual. or not. who knows?

  • yea let's just forget about the illegality of those things and how companies, ISPs and law enforcements fight tooth and nail to shut those services down repeatedly.

You ever wonder why these companies don't operate in countries that don't have strict piracy laws and can't shut down sites with court orders? Because it's still easier to pirate than face criminal charges.

  • WTF. I would fucking love barebones launcher. I was holding off using epic launcher because it was so laggy and slow when it first came out. I was using legendary before, but stopped using Epic altogether. Might just give it a try again.

I'm starting to feel steam is getting bloated and plain annoying. I just want a launcher to launch a game and pair with my friends after a long day at work. I don't want a crappy browser following me around in the background. I already have a browser if I need it. We use a different app for voice so could do away with all the other bs as well.
