A generation seems very generous. The only path back to US hegemony I see is Fascism: we've burned our bridges and I don't think the world will be willing to work with us for a long time. But I don't even think the current batch are interested in US hegemony.

Honestly IMO the big threat to them comes from the right. They've spent a generation cultivating violence and gun culture in their own followers.

I think it's an accident, but not a surprise, that the recent Trump assaignation attempts were all right wing. The left has no monopoly on ADHD and depression diagnoses. And they teach their folks conspiracy thinking.

Yes. It's not great that they're banning a mass communication app. Tiktok is very often used for political communication and while I might support limiting the power of corporations in our political communication I don't support the consolidation into even fewer hands.
